Pasadena City College RN program

Published

Hi,

I've heard that it's not recommended to work while enrolled as a student in an RN program. I'm applying for the Spring Semester at PCC and while I do intend to leave my current employer should I be accepted, I was wondering if there were people who made the attempt to work part-time or possibly in the summer.

Any opinions?

Thanks!

Congrats to everyone who got accepted!! So does this mean no acceptances are being sent via email?

Congrats to everyone who was accepted! I'm finishing my first semester at PCC and I love it. It has a very good reputation and is considered one of the top ADN programs in SO. Cal because of the high pass rate for the NCLEX.

The syllabus is clear and precise and they tell you from the get go what is expected of you. Do your reading, go to class and do your best and you will succeed.

I work in a hospital and whenever a nurse of Dr. finds out i'm a nursing student, they ask which school I attend, and when I tell them PCC they are impressed lol PCC has a good reputation and very good teachers. We're very lucky!

The message I got on my voicemail just said to call them back by 9:30am Monday. Not sure if that's an official deadline or not but I'm not taking any chances.

All I got was a call, not an email. Maybe they're trying something new this time year.

But you applied to LA County, right? Any other schools?

Hi nickieph,

What is the school schedule like? Morning, evenings, random times of the day?

What are some of the clinical sites?

i applied to Citrus, CSULA, PCC and County. got a rejection from CSULA and Citrus, just waiting on PC and County now.

Hey ricdel im with you! I applied to cerritos, rio hondo, pcc, and county and already been denied by cerritos and rio. Now im only waiting for pcc and county. Im already looking into other schools for spring '13 just in case i dont get in this semester. Im still hoping for an acceptance letter though (fingers crossed)!!

Hey guys! Congratulations to all that have got in somewhere!! Those who haven't.. Don't lose hope!! I applied to Pcc last semester and it was the only school I applied to and I didn't get in and the wait was killer!! This semester I've applied to about eight! And it is less stressful. I know Pcc is an amazing school as well as several in our area! Just curious if anyone has heard how good the citrus program is?

good luck to you fc, and yeah i'll try applying again for next spring too, but hopefully i'll get into a program for this fall. keeping my fingers crossed too.

So after calling like a million times this morning and leaving a message, I got a call back letting me know that the person in charge of nursing acceptance is out today! The call was an unofficial acceptance and we were supposed to get official emails today. But with the person out sick, we'll probably get the emails tomorrow with info about what to do next.

So if they called you saying you were accepted, make sure you call them back today so they know you are interested. If no one picks up, leave a message.

I just got a call I'm in too!! Was not expecting it AT ALL!

Congrats to all the accepted users in the generic program! I'm still extremely excited to be starting so soon. Just so you all know--on my paperwork they required the flu shot and I was told I can't wait for the new one in a few months. Most places do not have the flu vaccine from the previous/"current" season. It took me awhile and only PCC's Student health services had it. Not sure how much they have, but other than that NO ONE had it in my area. So if you need it---I'd get it soon.

Did you get the call from PCC today Mon 4 June 2012? Can I know your stats for micro, anat, physic and english?
