Hi,
I've heard that it's not recommended to work while enrolled as a student in an RN program. I'm applying for the Spring Semester at PCC and while I do intend to leave my current employer should I be accepted, I was wondering if there were people who made the attempt to work part-time or possibly in the summer.
Any opinions?
Thanks!
Congrats to everyone who have gotten acceptances so far! I just called PCC and the woman said everyone should hear back by the end of this week and to call them if you haven't received an email or a phone call by then. I'm waiting for an acceptance too. Hoping to get a spot, as I'm sure everyone is! I asked this earlier, but no one replied...does anyone know how many students they accept for the generic ADN program each semester?
Well, I thought that it is based on merit and I was hopeful to get in. With my grades my counselor said I will get in. I only applied one school. I'm going to do another major nutrition may be. I don't want to wait. I just wonder what's the difference between people who get calls and the one that get email. so the ones with phone calls are priority. Congratulations for the you who got accepted though :)!
I have no idea why they are doing the phone calls.. It's my second time applying and last semester they didn't do this. As for the counselor.. I was told the same exact thing as well as a couple other girls. I'm not sure what is going on with that! Last semester I only applied to Pcc and was so disappointed when I didn't get in.. If you do plan on waiting another semester apply to every school you can think of. There are schools that have spring application periods! I can't imagine they are done notifying people so don't get to discouraged.
Called PCC this morning to formally decline the acceptance as I am holding out for County and I have also been accepted to COC's Fall 2012 program (and completed the laundry list of requirements COC wanted by May 25th). Good luck to any alternates and congratulations to all those who were also accepted.
Hi evatelia,
I got called on Friday, June 1st. I had to call back today to let them know if I was interested. I have A's in micro, anatomy, physio, and English with no repeats. Those are the courses they look at for the chancellor's formula but after that it's the luck of the draw.
The next hurdle for the ones that have been accepted is to take or send TEAS scores. Good thing I already took it. One less thing to worry about!

I got the call today! Around 1.. I know there are people who got it earlier.. And it's not based on stats.. Which I had thought it was when I applied... but I have all A's in the core pre reqs and an overall GPA of 3.5
