Hi,
I've heard that it's not recommended to work while enrolled as a student in an RN program. I'm applying for the Spring Semester at PCC and while I do intend to leave my current employer should I be accepted, I was wondering if there were people who made the attempt to work part-time or possibly in the summer.
Any opinions?
Thanks!
They don't tell you what number you are, just that you're an alternate and to not call the office because if it changes they'll let you know immediately. They gave me info on the TEAS and an invitation to take it at no charge. I already took it earlier in the year though, so I emailed back to find out if I should have my results sent over now. It also said my "alternate status" will be in effect up to June 28. So I guess if I hear nothing by then, I'm not getting in. Here's hoping.
That said, from talking to people at Pasadena (in the program and some finished), it sounds like they don't choose very many alternates to begin with so most do end up in the program.
This is ridiculous. Not saying that all people who end up going to pasadena are in any way sub par (because I am still waitig too), but why would pasadena wait until most people have already been accepted and have intent on going somehwere else? They are going to end up with a bunch of people who perhaps couldnt be excepted somehwhere else either because of low grades or whatever. It should not take 4 months to process forms. seriously!

Keep in mind PCC says they send out letters 12 weeks from the close of the application period. That doesn't hit us until the 20th, so you're still early if expecting letters right now. I don't start calling schools until it's past the time they said we'd hear, and I mean really past. If they start SENDING right on the 20th it'll still be a few days to arrive. I figure all the phone calls just slow them down.
