Hi,
I've heard that it's not recommended to work while enrolled as a student in an RN program. I'm applying for the Spring Semester at PCC and while I do intend to leave my current employer should I be accepted, I was wondering if there were people who made the attempt to work part-time or possibly in the summer.
Any opinions?
Thanks!
Oh thanks!I have sent in my application, but not my TEAS yet...have you taken it?
I think as long as you have applied to the university before nov 30th and to the program before dec 1st then your good to go
the grades and volunteer/healthcare exp isnt due until march
the TEAS, unfortunately is due before dec 30th
i think i am going to retake my TEAS. my friend is taking it dec 2nd at rio hondo and i think i will make an appointment at the same time so we can carpool
How did you do on your teas? I wouldn't stress it too much. I got a 79% and got into a program
Thanks guys for the good thoughts but you guys have high overall GPA's
Trust me if I had like a 3.4 GPA i would not care, My pre req GPA is high but my overall is only like a 3.15, hopefully be a 3.2 after fall....
So basically all schools look at Pre req GPA, overall GPA and TEAS (mostly) I have to get 2/3 those high to be accepted (theoretically, if you think about it). Well since overall GPA takes time to raise, the only thing I have left to improve is TEAS since my pre req is a 3.86~4.0 depending on what classes are looked at...
I am taking it with a friend, dec 2nd at rio hondo

I believe my overall Fla was a 3.25. Stop stressing yourself out. :)
Hi everyone! I reapplied for PCC's RN program for FALL 2012. I had applied for the spring and I truly thought that I'd get in with my grades (at least their counselors led me to believe so), but was denied. What really perturbed me was that several of my classmates that did get in the coveted program had an overall GPA of 2.8, and grades of Bs or less in the four main classes used for selection into the program!! A close friend of mine spoke to one of the women that worked there and she told my friend that their computerized system follow an ethnicity quota. I suppose that could explain why students with low GPA's were able to get into the program. Anymatter, I hope that I get in somewhere! This is driving me bonkers!
