Pasadena City College 2017 LVN

Published

Hello everyone. I know it's a little early but I wanted to know if anyone is planning on applying to the LVN program when applications open up in March? I'd love to wait it out together!

Still nothing. I knew the chances were slim since I don't have my CNA but I'm still a little disappointed.

How is the math portion of the teas? To be honest that's what I am more worried about it's been a while since I have taken a math course the last course I took was stats.

Sorry I haven't taken the TEAS yet. This was my first time applying.

I would contact them!!!! Because they have to let you know if you're accepted or not, or an alternate. If you're an alternate you can have a guaranteed spot next year...that's a new thing, I actually mentioned something like that to the RN director and now it's a rule this year which is good and bad for me. Bad because if the rule existed last year I'd be in for sure this year, good because if I don't start somewhere else I know I have a spot at PCC next year. So call let them know you haven't heard nothing back at all.

My email stated the same about a guaranteed spot if you're an alternate and passed the TEAS but weren't selected...that's a new rule, that rule didn't stand last year or else I'd be in the program for sure this year. Sucks but oh well. If you completed stats, you're perfectly fine. It's very basic compared to stats. Remember it's the teas 6 now we'll the "ATI TEAS" it's called, but it's the 6th version. The math is just slightly different, but the practice test helped me more than the study manual.

Hi Tani,

I actually was able to get through on the phone *que the heaven sound effects* and was told that if I didn't get an acceptance email by now then I'm either wait listed or rejected. She couldn't tell me my status because they are supposedly still compiling the wait list, so I guess there is still hope somewhat. I'm still going to try to get into Rio Hondo's LVN program when they open applications this August. Hopefully I'll have better luck there.

Maybe I should apply there too? What are the prerequisites?

Here's the website. Vocational Nursing Program | Health Science and Nursing

It's pretty much the same thing. The only difference is that it's lottery based so there's a better chance of getting in (for me at least) They are having an information meeting on July 25th from 4-5 pm. Oh and also no CNA is required.

Oh ok thanks. I hope i do well. I have a few days to brush up on each subject's. I unfortunately only have the study manual, and I don't think I would get the practice test book in time. Just looked at rio hondo unfortunately it's over an hour away from me so I'll have to wait on pcc :/

The practice test is an online test, and it's structured exactly the same as the real one.

You may see me there. I'm so tired of this wait.

Would you happen to know if they're the same as PCC with the rule being...if one completes LVN at that particular school, they have a guaranteed seat in the RN Program?
