Hello everyone. I know it's a little early but I wanted to know if anyone is planning on applying to the LVN program when applications open up in March? I'd love to wait it out together!

Ugh it's Monday í ½í¸°í ½í¸¨í ½í¸¨ nothing yet.

I keep calling and they're not even answering at this point which is kind of rude. I'm going for orientation today at the adult school for my advanced Medical Terminology class that is a pre req for their LVN program. I also found out that Rio Hondo's LVN program is opening up applications on August 28 (not sure of exact date) they're having an info meeting on July 25th so I'm planning on attending. I already applied to Rio Honda and of course got on since everyone gets in lol. I'm just hoping I can get into their LVN program. I was informed it's a lottery and no CNA is required so hopefully I have better odds.

Omg they are TERRIBLE When it comes to ANSWERING. Keep trying I'm interested to see what they say. I'm going to try too. I call almost everyday. í ½í¹

Did you get an email today?????????

I received an email today... was selected as an alternate for this fall.. :(

Does anyone know how the teas test is?

Does anyone know how the teas test is?

So was I second year in a row, I'm an alternate. Do you mind me asking your grades in the prerequisites? Or if you completed them all, and CNA.

I took the TEAS in March 2017 if you were selected I'd say pay for the practice test, its more help than the study guide by ATI. They call it basic, but its not so basic once you take the test, paying for the practice test is the best way to get a feel of it.

i finished CNA back in March of this year, i completed my science prerequisites a while back i had B's mostly and 1 C, Where do you get the practice test from? do they have a science portion in the lvn teas? i had read it was just going to be math and english and one needed to get a 58 or higher to pass.

Have you been an alternate at PCC for 2 years?

Yes I've been an alternate for two years straight. I purchased the practice exam from the atitesting.com site. I actually took the RN TEAS which the only difference is the RN TEAS has science, the LVN TEAS has everything but science. There's English (language usage), there's "basic" math, and there's reading. It's hard to explain but there's lots of algebra and conversions and a Little geometry, and mostly everything will be word problems. And everything is timed! The reading had long paragraphs which will take up your time I think it's timed to have about 45sec/to 1 minute to answer each of the questions so you have to read really fast, and the questions are tricky. I scored a 74 in Eng, 84.4 in math 72 in science, and a terrible 50 in grammar/English word usage/subject verb agreement . Which brought my overall score down significantly to a 70% which is good still I mean it's better than the required 58. I think I paid 50 for the version B practice test and skipped A. Did You completed anatomy, physiology, and Micro? I know it was required to complete math, and nutrition.

No :( nothing at all yet. I guess that's a no for me. Good luck to both of you I hope a spot opens up for you both

Wow, the email that I received being an alternate says if you pass the teas they guarantee you a spot the following year in the fall. Well awhile ago I purchased the ati manual for RN that's the one I just started studying with. And yes I have finished all my prerequisites and general ed courses. Have you received an email yet ?
