Well I re did my TEAS and got a whooping 2% higher than last time, so 84%. My overall GPA is about a 3.15, after fall I should have a 3.24. I am a CNA and I have an associates degree. My pre req GPA is like 3.75-4.0 depending on what is considered pre reqs. Like I have a B in English but all my sciences are As.

So I mean, ballparking it, I would not have even made alternate status. Which sucks because I would prefer RCC because they have a deal with CSUF. But I didn't apply to any ADN programs besides PCC because I really want my BSN. There aren't a lot of RN jobs for new grads, so having a BSN wouldn't guarantee me a job, but would make me a better canidate. I don't know, at this rate i will be happy get in anywhere.

But Congrats on getting into RCC, I heard great things from there.

Thanks BeachBedhead, I added up your points, and it summed up to 80 points. Here is the breakdown: CNA = 5, prereq GPA = 20, overall GPA = 15, life experience = 5 (Jackie stated it was a freebee because who doesn't need to work), foreign language = 5 (if you have taken any foreign language in high school or college, you will get that 5 points), teas result = 30. There is your 80 points, and that is the score I got accepted with. You could be my classmate. Don't ever doubt yourself. How did you only add 60 points? Was my calculation wrong? Ahhhhhh BeachBedhead.

Well I figured my teas was lower and my overall may not be right. I went to cal poly for a year and failed out and they are on quarter system so combining grades is a little tricky.

I probably should have applied. Foreign language? I took American sign language in high school 2 years. Doesn't count at a lot of places. Well I will definitely apply for fall. Thanks for the encouragement, I really need it right now.

Good luck at RCC!

Definitely apply for the fall semester and ask ---- or -------- (enrollment specialist) if RCC accepts your American sign language units. Hopefully, PCC will accept you. Did you get hire?

Oh thanks for the tip! Man I knew I should have applied. Gosh, well I was thinking of RCC (or cal state San Bernardino) who give extra points for language will be ok with only 2 years in HS. My problem is that the sign language program in high school was only two years, so technically I could never get the "3 years of foreign language" because it stops at 2. Well a few years after I graduate, I see that they added a 3rd year option like the Spanish and French students have. I wonder if both RCC and CSUSB will be ok with 2 years foreign language because that was all that was offered for that language at that time.

I will email -------- and will let you know the outcome.

Awesome! Thanks so much!

You're welcome. You won't have to worry about that when PCC accepts you. I have my fingers crossed for you.

Thanks there! But I am sure doubting it every minute that passes...They wouldn't take this long if they didn't get a lot of applicants, which means that more applicants equals less chance to get accepted

Maybe the terrifying wind and power outage delay the process. I thought I was in the wrong post because you changed your user name. I was confused for a bit. Power to the Phoenix.
