Pasadena City College ADN Spring 2012

lol i don't know..tears of joy? haha. I don't want to plan or think about how I'll celebrate because I don't want to get my hopes up and then..get rejected lol. Do you have plans?

Lol! I know how you feel! I scared too, even if i had all As. I mean the way my pessimistic brain looks at it: theres only 4 classes to give "points to". So out if only 4 classes are looked at, and say they take 50 people per semester, what if all 50 have all As? What about 1000 applicants? Out of that 1000, say 10%, have all As in only 4 pre reqs? Well 10% of 1000 is 100 people.

See what I mean? Gosh its getting worse! Ugh man cant they send out denials already geez, I bet they had 1000 of applicants and 75%+ are being denied that should help them move on to acceptance right?

Watch, I'm in that 75% denied pile!

Honestly I am hoping to at least get an email. I hope my application didn't get tossed because I didn't write something in or whatever. Imagine that! I have contemplating whether I get accepted or denied and I get nothing! So my luck!

To BeachBedhead and kadc,

That's great that your friend got accepted into the Rio Hondo's nursing program for the spring. But I thought Rio Hondo starts their generic ADN program in the fall.

Here is their website stating, "Students who are accepted to the program will be admitted to ADN 151 by permission of the Health Sciences and Nursing Division. This course is a prerequisite for admission to ADN 1st semester course (ADN 150) and is offered in the spring semester and summer semester sessions. Students who complete ADN 151 with a grade of “C” or better will be admitted to the program in the fall semester. Students who are applying for the spring ADN 151 course must have an application, a copy of their counseling card and documentation of course work on file in the Health Sciences and Nursing Division Office by October 1 for spring admission and March 1 for summer admission. Students will be notified of permission to register in writing."

Are you taking about their other nursing programs?

I was told that they will gather all the applications from fall and spring to be considered for the upcoming fall semester. My reason for asking was because did I missed an opportunity to apply this fall. I thought I can wait for this spring to apply.

Yes, Rio HOndo starts their generic ADN program in the fall. My friend who got accepted will start in fall..I don't remember if I accidentally said spring.. The application to get in the prerequisite class already passed, but to get in the actual nursing program, I don't really know..sorry..

Whether you apply for the fall or spring, you have to do a pre req class which is why you start fall. Which is actually why my friend who got accepted to Rio hondo denied them. She wants to start as soon as possible like February. I believe if you apply for spring at Rio Hondo you do the pre req class starting spring but do not start clinical untill the fall. If you apply for fall at Rio hondo then you do the pre req class in the summer and do not start clinical until the fall. Did you apply to Rio hondo tl999?

That scares me! I'm just telling myself that if I don't get in, it only means that there's another program better and meant for me! lol. trying to think positive. I'll be okay..because I even applied to the cal states and so it wouldn't be a big loss if I could apply to their nursing programs. I just REALLY have to get accepted to one of the nursing programs then I'll be happy! haha

Me too! I just want to start and the sooner the better!

Just don't listen to my pessimism! I get like that when I get anxious! As I said you have all As in pre reqs I have no doubt you will get in!

Thanks for your reply, I didn't apply to Rio Hondo because I wanted to wait until next spring. But I did applied at Riverside CC and Pasadena CC. kadc you don't need to apology; your information was helpful.
