It's going to be a year where big pharma and healthcare systems will be combining different types of solutions to give better healthcare,†New or improved drugs will be combined with new or improved diagnostics to personalize medicine. More pharma companies will sign contracts with small diagnostic startups to provide personalized healthcare kits to make therapy cheaper, easier on the patient and more successful.
Please respond.

Why? (This reads like a corporate prospectus.)

I'll believe it when I see it. "Pharma companies" do anything to "make therapy cheaper"?? Yeah, right.

I got nothing.
Well NurseLeigh - thanks much - still not understanding though....
Right there with you.
I just thought that may be somebody uses blood work or other testing for medication treatment, to minimize side effects.
The only protocols that i found were in oncology.
Linchitz Medical Wellness used protocols called Insulin potential therapy and they personalized tested cancer cells .The tests were expensive and only rich patients were treated there. All was done till 2013.
Any other experience with FDA approved personal testing?

You're talking about pharmacogenomic testing? Yeah, plenty of people do it. I find it interesting, but have not put it into practice primarily because I do not have a lab source to refer patients to. Will it become mainstream practice? Maybe in 10-15 years, but by in 25-30 we'll probably be sending SMI to fMRI as part of the basic evaluation.
In 2015 I called to Theranos company and asked regarding prices and policy for blood work. They told me the client needs to be in Pennsylvania , this is "the closest" to NY physical place for blood work pick up. The price is chip and the test is done from one drop.I hope that check up in liver enzymes or genetic check up can help with side effects of psych. medication and the doses will be personally reduced/managed. The clinical research is already done in some disorders. This is a future.

I visited some private practices and some practitioners use "muscle testing" and other not FDA approved testing. I will be happy to hear even "weird " stories.
I hope to hear any clinical expirience , even not in psychiatry/neurolgy.

I wouldn't get too enthusiastic about Theranos just yet. They are being investigated by the FDA for a variety of charges. They are also being investigated for possible violations of securities law.

"After these reports, Walgreens suspended their plans to roll out Theranos testing services in their stores, and the press reported that Safeway cancelled a $350 million agreement to use Theranos testing technology amid doubts about its accuracy." I am not expert, and I have subjective filing that Theranos are cheaper then any other companies.
Products manufactured for medical or food use must be produced in facilities designed and operated according to Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) regulations.
Theranos just a threat to all other companies. This small company is a new "Industrial Revolution" in blood diagnostic area.
