Hey everyone,
I am a second year nursing student. Since I have two months off in the summer, I would like to apply for a job at a hospital, clinic, or any medical facility that can help me gain experience as well as earn me a few extra bucks. Does anyone know if as a nursing student you can work part time or full time at a medical job? And how to apply?

Every place is different.
I would start looking at places to see what's out there and then get a hd of them to see what they offer.
Also, is this just for the summer? If so, I suggest volunteering. Some places may not want to hire you for only two months...unless you are looking at possibly working part time while in school.

Tons of people in my nursing class got jobs as patient care technicians or nurse techs at hospitals as a part time job. Most of them started out in the summer and then kept the job working part time during the school year. Call HR and inquire if they hire student nurses as nurse techs.

In my area, facilities will hire you as a "tech" or "aide" or "whatever-they-call-it" if you've completed your first Med-Surg class and clinical, even though you don't have an actual CENA certificate/license.
