Parkland Residency Summer 2020

Hello everyone!

I created this thread for those who are interested or applying to the residency program at Parkland for the summer 2020. I'm hoping this thread is helpful for those wanting to talk and ask questions. Good luck to everyone!

They did the same thing with a position for surgical PCU. They posted 2 new positions today. One (which I applied to) is already down and the other is still up but says the listing has been deleted/closed when you go to apply. My status on the one I applied to today also says thank you for applying which I thought was their rejection status since one of my old applications says that. I saw the surgical PCU ones pop up today too. One thing I noticed is that they have numbers beside them, so maybe they are only opening them to fill the reqs as they make offers.

I figured either way, it couldn't hurt to resubmit an application. Did you get a rejection email with your old app that says thank you for applying? You would think if it was a rejection, it would say "closed" or "not under consideration" like others.

I asked someone at Parkland about the “thank you for applying” on some applications and she said it was a rejection status.

Yeah maybe they have something to do with their current hiring for the units. I never received a rejection email with the old application, but I know I was not selected as it was a position that popped up in November for a February 2020 position.

I think someone earlier in the thread mentioned interviewing with MICU. My status for these units just changed today to thanks for applying, which I already figured it was a no since I never got contacted for an interview.

I interviewed with MICU last week. For the July 2020 start date, they interviewed 35-40 people over 2 days and are taking 8. Those 8 will be notified by this Friday, the latest.
