Parkland ER Nurse Residency 2012

Published

I interviewed today, the last day. The mgr told me we would find out next week. Has anybody heard anything? How do you feel your interview went? Anyone know how many they are accepting? I have faith though! Think it went well. Who wants to play the waiting game with me?

Specializes in Critical Care; Cardiac; Professional Development.

A classmate of mine got the call early this morning as well and had interviewed on Friday. Not sure what time her interview was.

Specializes in Emergency.

I emailed Capria about my status, and she said that she doesn't have an offer for me yet, but they are not done selecting candidates.

Perhaps, they are doing it by school affiliation? X number from here and X number from there? Who knows.

Congrats to all who have received confirmation and good luck to those who have not.

Thanks, Goopsy, and I second the good luck! I think that's good news, Prettyladie.:up::up:

I was pleased to receive an offer this morning! I interviewed early November. Longest two weeks of my life. So there is hope for you prettyladie! Good luck to you all.

This job hunting is definitely a roller coaster! I still haven't heard anything, negative or positive, but goopsy, your post gives me hope! Congratulations!!

Congratulations, Goopsy! Still have my fingers crossed for the rest of you!

I have a question that maybe y'all will know the answer to. When I interviewed, i received a sheet in a purple packet called "Quick Facts". On bottom right hand corner, it talks about how we are scheduled. We are given a two week schedule based on the highest demand shift (night shift almost 100%) and then when the two weeks is over, we repeat that schedule for the entire 2 year contract. That means our schedule will not change for the whole two years. Am I reading that correctly or did y'all remember anything else from interview that was said otherwise?

I will ask about that.

Yes, I will let you know what I find out. Only asking because the SICU residency does 3-6 months on day, then 3-6 months night for the two year period up to 15 months maximum until you get the shift you want. That is nice.

My reliable source says that it is every other weekend and then the days (or nights) you are assigned to work. And this is supposed to stay the same for two years. You can apparently trade shifts if you wish. I'm sure this is designed to minimize confusion.

Specializes in Emergency.

Got the ER Job at Scott and White! So that's good news :)
