Ok so I am begining to think I have the worst topic ever! I need to find research articles (evidenced based) on promoting health: preventing vitamin D deficiency in elderly/nursing home patients.
I am not very comfortable with APA style formtting to make matters worse but that is the least of my worries because I can not find a single article to cite.
So far I have that you can't get enough Vit D from food or supplements so A nursing intervention would be to get the patient in the sun.
I am screwed and lost!!!!!!!! Maybe I am just putting in bad search terms I have no idea, we have a great website that is supposed to give us articles that are evidenced based, current, and everything but my wonderful topic comes up with zero results. I tried a google search ( to try to get an idea) and found nothing that I could use. AGH!
I use Dr. Paper and love it--it's definitely worth the $20. I found out about it through another thread here at AN :)
I don't know how the other programs mentioned work; but with PERRLA when you are ready to make a citation you hit "add a citation" which sits right in the MS Word program. It then ask you all the questions, i.e. authors names, title, date published, etc. It creates the citation and then adds it to the reference page in the correct format. I believe there is a tutorial on their website. It has been real time saver and I can't seem to get enough time in NS.

u may want to research vitamin D how the body uses it. If you look at any renal info it should address this and how it relates to calcium and osteoporosis etc. APA you can actually google apa format and get the latest on how to format papers.
yup it does!!!! it's so work the $25! don't worry i'm really lost and struggling too!
i bought the program then noticed someone else said word 2007 has a program already, shows you how much i have used it! i am glad i am not the only one lost but the professor i have who is going to read my paper seems a little bit more laid back so i guess i just need to worry about finding something to write about! perrla seems really easy and i am sure it will help the next couple of years. good luck on your formatting/paper
I actually considered myself tech savvy, and I almost cried a tear of resentment and bitterness for not having found this when I went through research. Lord, what fun I could have had without counting spaces, and fonts and whatnot, and then putting it all together at the end. Learning APA is one incredibly large waste of time, it would seem. Is there anyone who has taken research a long time ago, and actually remembers all the "rules" well enough to write a paper? My hat is off to you. Agony, thy name is APA.
I am mostly venting here for not finding the programs when I went through. I will stop now.
