  1. does anyone out there know when you fail the nclex and check on the license verification website if the status of your temporary practice permit goes from active to expired right after you take the boards does it mean that you failed. Because I just passed and after i found out my temporary practice permit status went from active to null and void and my registered nurse license then said active. A friend of mine took hers and called the BON in PA and they kept telling her that there was no license issued and that her TPP expired since they cannot say the words "you passed" or "you failed" because they are not authorized isnt that another way of them telling you that you failed??
  2. Congratulations to everyone who passed. Just found out today an hour ago that I passed I am officially a RN:nurse: Thanks Suzanne!!!!!!! and thanks to all of you for your support and prayers. Good luck to all who have not taken the exam and to those who have good luck with your careers as new nurses!
  3. Congrats to all that have passed. Just got home an hour ago from the hell hole not sure how it went. I had no math ?'s, 3 drag and drop, 3 SATA, no hot spots shut off at 110 which is a strange number and it makes me worry and 15 don't count so I answered 95 that counted. I wish I could find out right now. Ne opinions on my weird number of questions? I know it has no bearing but I need a piece of mind! Ughghgh I need a beer!
  4. Yea I used Suzannes plan and I felt so prepared all the way through until now the day before the exam. I feel like i have a billion and more things running through my head at like a billion miles per hour. I am so so so anxious, I don't even know where to go what to do etc. I test tomorrow at 8am and right now I could just vomit. Wheres that prayer that was posted on here a while back I can't find it. ughghgh im paniking! HELP!
  5. yes but risk for is a potential diagnosis and altered sensory perception is an actual diagnosis. Priority would be a diagnosis that is present not one that has the potential to be.
  6. can you add me to the list too! i test october 29th:nurse:
  7. Follow her plan exactly as written even if you feel comfortable with the material. Following it the way she says is where the 85% passage rate comes from.
  8. u may want to research vitamin D how the body uses it. If you look at any renal info it should address this and how it relates to calcium and osteoporosis etc. APA you can actually google apa format and get the latest on how to format papers.
  9. yes i used this book as well on my first attempt at nursing school the first semester! Thank the lord I graduated this August anyway point is the evolve will be correct if you register your book with them online it will give you or should the answers to the questions in the book go with that version. Oh and potter and perry u will see over and over again in review books for the NCLEX alot of info is used from that book for alot of NCLEX review books!
  10. Another thing SNS501, you can also depending on where you live look into Southside Regional Medical School of Nursing which is an online program and you never go to clinicals more than 2 days a week but its five semesters versus the normal 4 semester diploma programs. You also have small breaks in between semesters u have 4 wks off for christmas break like everyone else, a week for srping break but you go over the summer may, june, july, and august but have days off in between the end and start of the next semester. If you are interested you may be able to start in January and just withdrawal from the program you are in now without academic penalty and may be even able to get some of the money you spent on tuition back. You can google southside regional medical center school of nursing it is based out of petersburg VA and owned by a corporation called CHS you can do your clinicals at one of their hospitals which are all over the USA. Only thing is though there is no financial aide you can take a private loan or apply for grants and scholarships but can't have the federal unsubsidized or subsidized loans. Let me know if u need any more info on this.
  11. I seriously just got dejavu after reading you post. I started Nursing school and just found out i was pregnant for the first time, no job, not to far in the realtionship with my current fiance. I was planning completing the first two semesters and then taking time off to have my baby and come back. Miraculously i finshed my last clinical day in my last semester which was a thursday and had my daughter saturday. I didnt even take my final yet. I had my mom drive me to my final that wednesday took it passed and was scared to death as to how i was going to go back in two weeks. The school was telling me to withdrawl and i just couldnt it was two days a week, my luck i went right into OB and took care of newborns and laboring moms for 7 weeks and my mom had my daughter. I did it passed the third semester and made it too the last and failed my first two tests, i was crushed the final withdrawal date without penalty was approaching and i all my instructors were advising me to just withdrawal and come back that i had to much going on in my life. I kept my faith because i was at a similar point in my life a year ago nine months pregnant i didnt withdrawal my final was on my daughters first birthday and i passed. I graduated August 17th and surprised the whole world. Point of the story is one don't feel discouraged because you failed the first test regardless of what anyone tells you if its meant to be it will be, secondly see if you can work something out with your mother in law and grandmother to help you with childcare while you are at school it is such as short period of time. Just because you are a mom does not mean that you will be abandoning your child to pursue a goal. Follow your heart it will lead you in the right direction. :heartbeat
  12. you may find the verse footprints very inspirational not to impose any beliefs google footprints in the sand if you are interested. I too feel the same way but am in a different path in the journey I hope to graduate in two weeks and I am feeling really down and out because with one test and a final left I still am below passing. I feel as though everything I want in life will come crashing down before me in less than two weeks when I take the final and get the end percentage.
  13. The verse Footprints is very inspirational! google footprints in the sand!
  14. Yes, in situations like "this" ie. taking the NCLEX I always refer to the footprints verse dont know if you have ever heard of it but if you would like to google footprints in the sand!!
