I'm scared & depressed. I've been studying very hard for this test, but all that means nothing when it comes to the real thing. Despite doing study questions on a daily basis, reading rationales and strategies (even today) they didn't help.
I am feeling bad that I took the nclex awhile ago, June 23 to be specific. The questions were shocking with things that I never heard of. I had about over 50% of my questions in SATA format which made it really difficult. I felt anxious as one SATA came after another over and over again. There were 4 or 5 math questions scattered thoughout the test with 2 other alternative types.
Right away upon returning home from the test center, I begin scambling the books and saw that I miss a quite few easy questions. Most of the contents could not be found in books or online. Over the past few days I've been reading a lot of articles on people who failed nclex, I had 75 questions. From reading all those online articles, I think this fourm is very imformative. I read much articles on people who failed at 75.
My state does not participate on quick result. I feel bad that I didn't pass. I'm just waiting for the letter to see the "you failed" for a reality check...
thinking about how I'm going to have to study for the next 3 months, and breaking the news to people. I'm just here wasting away. What do you guys think?

Hey Caliguy-First off, did you find out your results yet? If not, when do you except to find out? That really stinks Cali takes so long to post them. I would go crazzzzyyyy waiting!! I realize that each test in individual, but my best friend had 75 questions and half of hers were SATA and she passed. I also had 75 questions w/18 SATA and I passed as well. I think having a lot of SATA is a good sign!
Secondly, I guarantee that you passed! If you read the many, many posts on this site you'll realize that everyone feels the same way you do after the test. It's completely normal. Basically you have to get 50 (or 51%, i'm not exactly sure) of the questions correct. Are you used to getting a 50% on a test in nursing school and walking out of the test thinking "wow, i def. passed!?" I bet not! Well that's all you have to get right to pass the nclex.
Thirdly, I wouldn't even look at a nursing book until you def. know your results. You've just been through sooooo much and i really can't imagine you retaining much info feeling the way you do (at least I know I wouldn't.) So please relax, try and stay busy and think positive.
((hugs to you)) :icon_hug:
Sorry, but do not agree with you. Most of you in other states are not aware that CA will permit a new grad to test before they even have a completed file on them. And that is the reason that they do not participate in the Quick Results, and actually only about 1/2 of the states do.

You have so much support here, we are here to help you along the way. Everything stated from everyone here, is what I wanted to say...pretty much. So, I will tell you agaub you just have to be patient, and when you get the results, you can make your plans then. I am here beating myself up, but always quick to let everyone else know to be patient until the results come in. I took mine yesterday, and I can only think of the ones I didn't do well on. I hate that. I had a combo of everything. Newborn, psych, maternity,med-surge, math, and the rest was priority. My exam mostly had priority, and even the ones I knew for sure, I still didn't feel confident. So, here I am just waiting for time to pass.
My exam was 265, and it was torture. This exam is just here to get us ready, for the real world. hang in there, keep yourself busy until you find out. Good luck, we are here to support!!!!!![]()

Average wait time is a full ten days, not two or three days as some post about seeing their name in that time. And it can take up to a month for them to get things done with your file.
All that test get 50% correct and 50% incorrect, how they determine that you have passed is the level that you were getting the majority of the correct ones at. Nothing more than that.
And it is impossible to try and second guess how you did on the exam.
If you do not hear anything in two weeks, then contact them to make sure that there is nothing missing from your file, but please wait the two weeks.
And best of luck on your results.

Thanks, I like the way you think. I do not know if I pass or not as of today. :stone After calling BRN on the phone, I've a feeling that I'll know sometime next week...
:zzzzz:scrying: Feeling of failing and the dread is horrible.
Hi Caliguy,
Out of my graduating class of 36 students 24 have passed the NCLEX. 22 of those people had only 75 questions and all that I have spoken too said they felt they had failed it. !2 of us left to take the exam with me being one of them. I believe getting 75 questions is a good sign because the computer will keep giving you more chances if you fall below the standard needed to pass. Let us know how you did. I take mine on July 23.
Peace and grace
H
Transcripts were mailed about 2 weeks ago. The person on the phone sounds cold. I do not know what to make of our coversation. Part of me is still in a state of denial, not wanting to know the result knowing how bad this can be. Another part of me already moved on studying really hard again hitting the books and questions immediately.

SATA questions are only format style and do not determine the level of the question as a start. Math questions for the most part are actually considered lower level questions since one had to have passed the math exam to be able to get thru school as well.
Just wanted to clear this up for others that are reading here.
