Starting a column for those of us applying for the fall 2023 cohorts through Palomar and MiraCosta colleges. Good luck applicants!
It is, they have been changing it up the past few years.
First (If I recall correctly) it was entirely based on points.
Then a lottery of the top 150 applicants
Now lottery of everyone who is qualified, via the set criteria.
Someone speculated that it is a way to absorb the large LVN program wait-list, and I don't doubt that it would help- but I think they'd have to state if LVN program wait list applicants get a weighted preference.

Inch resting, I guess it's a free for all this time LOL. And only 20 students for those spots? Gonna be tough.
The email said Mid-March. And maybe its the anxiety.. I thought the webpage did as well- but I guess they can't outright tell everyone that they are definitely not in until all the area schools have let students know who is in or out and people have decided on programs.
Another meme to pass the time :

anyone know the number of eligible applicants each semester and how many are accepted into a cohort?
and I have never applied here before but it also looks like the selection criteria is different now?
