Pacific Union College ADN LVN-RN 2020 application

Published

Hello! I wanted to start this forum to see if anyone else has or plans to apply to PUC LVN-RN this round. I have taken TEAS already (88.0) and need to schedule the ACT. Has anybody taken the ACT yet? I'm a bit nervous. Thanks!

Hi everyone,

I'm looking into applying at PUC and was wondering if they accept Carrington's credits. I noticed that I still need to take a nutrition class but am I'm able to take that class during or prior to the program or do I have to have the pre-rep done first? What are my chances with a 3.7 GPA, 78% TEAS score and 2 years for LVN experience? Any information will greatly help me. Thank you.

@hnialee it looks like you have a good chance! You might want to email the nursing program to find out if they accept carrington college’s credits. You’ll have better odds of getting in if you have your prerequisites done! Since it’s very competitive. It took me a few tries to finally get in! The application deadline is 4/15. Good luck to you!

@aspiringrn2020 thank you so much for replying. Is the application yearly or twice a year?

@hnialee if your applying to the bridge program they only take 18 students yearly and If you don’t make it the first time, you can retake classes to boost your GPA and try again the following year. Good luck!

@scorpiodez did you receive the letter from PUC in the mail? Did you accept their offer to get into the program.

Hi there! Sorry for the late response. I am actually going to decline the offer bc I got into an LVN-RN bridge at a community college that starts this Fall and way cheaper for my budget. My friend got into PUC and I'm bummed that I won't share this experience with her and everyone else that got it, but financially, this is the route for me.

I wish everyone the best of luck! We've all worked so hard to get here and are going to be amazing RNs.

For those wondering about stats: I had a 4.0 GPA in prerequisites, an 88% on TEAS, and I didn't have to take the ACT due to COVID. My friend got into the program with a 3.45 GPA in prerequisites, a 78% TEAS and she got in the 30s for her ACT. She also speaks a second language.

@scorpiodez Thanks for replying! I wish you the best of luck! I know that must’ve been a hard decision for you to make. At least you had multiple offers, whereas some of us only applied to PUC. I hope this opens up a space for one of us that has been trying to get into the program!! Keep us updated! @Allnurses456 @Tinamina @JazzyNi email *** and ask if they still have space since @scorpiodez turned down the offer. Again.. best of luck! For sure, we will all be amazing RN’s!! Cheers!!

Congratulations everyone who was selected into programs this round and thank you for all of the encouragement. Take care!

@tinamina Make sure to contact ** or ****** to find out which classes you can retake to increase your GPA. It looks like I'm the only one in this thread that accepted the offer. Good luck!
