Solano Community College Fall 2020
RNNPPAHopeful Hi! I know applying can be exhausting and daunting. Especially because so many schools have varying requirements and are usually very competitive due to impaction, as you probably know. So as a quick reference for Solano, it is lottery, you must have a C or above in each prerequisite and, "If a qualified applicant has applied 3 consecutive years and is not selected, he/she will automatically be offered a position the 4th year in the Fall nursing class, as long as he/she still meets the requirements." You can read more here: http://www.solano.edu/health/1920/GeneralInformationSheet_01_29_20.pdf This is a great opportunity for people like myself who had "good" grades but not "excellent." I had a 3.52 overall and 3.31 in my prerequisites and did not make it into my program of choice two years in a row so I was very fortunate that Solano was lottery and pulled my name. Apply to as many schools as possible. Best of luck to you!

I got another denial letter this year guys. Wish you all the best of luck still. I had high hopes to go to this school but looks like I will be going to the program at Solano. Grateful for that anyway. Take care.

And this was all from (MODERATOR EDIT OF NAME)? I’m just confused why I didn’t get any of those update emails like you guys did. ? But yes, I’m very hopeful for this week! The suspense is killing me. I really hope you guys get in too. Also, I forgot to reply to the other question about number of people applying... I have no idea how many did. I don’t know anybody else personally who applied. I wish we could find out. LOL

No news on my application status yet. Just curious if anyone else had heard anything? I emailed her on Monday just to clarify when we should be hearing back because I never received that email some of you mentioned about the end of July. She said they will be notifying students of acceptance or non acceptance within the next couple of weeks...But then she recalled the email, so that was odd. I’m really hoping we hear back this week.. Just so so anxious.

Has anybody else gotten an acceptance or rejection? I’m curious if they’re working by alphabetical order or something else. And does anybody know the exact start date of the program? I can’t find it on any of the forms.

So sorry to hear your news. Always wishing everybody the best as I know how much this means to hopeful nursing students. I applied last year and didn’t make it and retook a class to improve my GPA a little. It is a very disappointing moment to receive bad news when you’ve already worked so hard to get to this point. Haven’t heard anything yet for myself this time around. Best of luck to everyone.

Will do. I’m anxiously waiting. It’s been a long wait... Over a year of trying for a spot in this program. ??

Oh yeah, pretty similar situations! I hope we can both make it too!! A lot of people I spoke to in my prerequisite classes had really high GPA’s so it’s definitely competitive out there. But I think we’ve definitely got a shot here! Best of luck to you!

I currently have a 3.31 for the prerequisites and 76% on TEAS and ACT score of 29. What about you? I also took the ATI LPN comprehensive exam last year (and passed) but I didn’t get into the program. My GPA at that time was 3.11 and I was still finishing Microbiology at the time decisions were being made. So I retook a class to increase my GPA. I am currently accepted elsewhere but I’m still holding my breath for this program because ironically it would save me money (since I only have 27 months left on my GI bill.) Problem is, my other program starts in August so I really need to find out soon if I made it into this one so I can make a choice and start making notifications. It’s cutting it really close.

PUC- LVN to RN
Hi! I applied to the LVN/Med tech-RN program there at Pacific Union College. Last email I received from --------------------- was in mid February and it said I had completed all the necessary requirements for application and, “The Admissions Committee will start admission considerations shortly after the April 15 application deadline each year. Notification of acceptance or non-acceptance will occur by the first of July, 2020.“ However, I’m seeing some talk in another forum about decisions being send out by late July. I’m really hoping this isn’t the case and we can find out soon. Please let me know whatever you find out! ?

Hello. I’ve applied for the PUC LVN-RN program. I’m a little confused because I see some talk about notifications going out by end of July. The last email I got from Pam Bobst in mid February said, “The Admissions Committee will start admission considerations shortly after the April 15 application deadline each year. Notification of acceptance or non-acceptance will occur by the first of July, 2020.” Did they extend the time to make their decision? I was really hoping to know by the 1st of July so I can make some important decisions with my current job.?

I’m anxiously awaiting the email regarding our rescheduled orientation. Still feeling very lucky to have a spot in the program. However, such late notice will be an obstacle with work and I’m pretty bummed about having already burned a vacation day for the original orientation date. My work schedule is also locked in for next month so I’m hoping the new date falls on an off-day or that I can convince a coworker to switch shifts with me. I also worry a lot about the nursing program being interrupted if progress isn’t made soon. I don’t mean to sound insensitive because I know there are much bigger problems people are facing due to this. I’m just anxious because getting back to school for nursing means the absolute world to me. I hope we can get through this quickly so we can get back to normal life. Wishing you all good health; Stay safe and reach out to others if you ever feel isolated or scared. ❤️ We’re all in this together.
