Pacific Lutheran University (BSN 2014)

Anyone applying for the Fall 2014 and/or Spring 2015 PLU BSN program? I'm putting my finishing touches on my application this week, and I'm very nervous. Love to exchange advice, encouragement, anxiety, and profiles with other applicants. :)

I will be completing my DTA in Spring at Tacoma Community College and currently have a 3.9 cumulative GPA and 4.0 in prereqs. Unfortunately, I do have a messy past from my first time attending a different college that is definitely coming back to haunt me at this point. Sigh. A family friend tried to ease my concerns by saying that PLU takes a holistic approach in considering applicants and they are most interested in the student you are now. *fingerscrossed* *deepbreaths*

Good luck to everyone! :)

I haven't checked this, since my initial post! The forum didn't keep me updated on whether this was active or not. :) Congrats James! Did you get into Fall or Spring? So exciting! You're going to have everyone checking their mail 10X a day, lol.

I wasn't selected for the Provost Scholarship, but I was fortunate to be offered an Academic Achievement, Phi Theta Kappa, and Q Club, which is always a nice relief. :)

Finishing my DT this quarter with my O.Chem and Micro. Sitting at a 3.9 cumulative, and 4.0 prereq so far. Hopefully I don't muck it up with these classes!

Right now, I know I am on slim odds as I was put on academic probation six years ago the first time I went to school. Just keeping my fingers crossed that my grades, essays, and the letter of explanation are strong-enough. I would love to meet everyone here. 40 is a small class! I can only imagine it will be a great group. :)

Good luck everyone! Keep us posted as you receive news!

I got my letter from the SON today and did not get in. I am determined to get in to a local bsn program so I will try again next year. I am considering getting my EMT in the meantime. Best of luck everyone!

Earlybird07, im sorry to hear about that, im not too confident in my application. What did the envelope look like? Just a a thin piece of paper inside? Im going crazy knowing some people are getting theirs already

Congrats on getting accepted Japerryamn!!! Can you share with us what the envelope looked like and such? Is there a date that you have to respond to the application

Yes please share anyone!! Is there a difference in amount of paper/thickeness with acceptance/denial notices? I think i can speak for everyone that we're desperate lol

Sieairbear,

It was a regular envelope. I don't know if it's true but I have heard that a packet means acceptance and a letter is a no. Good luck!!

Does anyone know any LPNs applying to the LPN-BSN? I'm freaking out waiting on them to send out yes or no letters to the LPNs

Japerryman,

Could you share what did your acceptance envelope looked/felt like?

Hi Everyone - sorry for the delay on my response... I know how rough the waiting game is!

Earlybird--I'm so sorry to hear your news. It sounds like you're keeping your spirits about you though--good luck with the EMT program, and keep at it!

Did you get into Fall or Spring?

I was placed in the Fall cohort (phew, it's already seeming like it's just around the corner!).

Japerryman,

Could you share what did your acceptance envelope looked/felt like?

It was in a regular sized envelope; about 6 pages that included a welcome letter from the SoN Admissions and Progression Committee, as well as a release agreement and a letter of confirmation to return to the SoN.

Is there a date that you have to respond to the application

I have to return my letter of confirmation by April 25th (I'm filling it out and sending it off today).

Best wishes to everyone. I know recommending that anyone even try to remain patient throughout this process is an exercise in futility--so instead, allow me to wish that your lives are busy, that the time passes quickly in these next few weeks, and--whether you are accepted this year, or if you have to give it another go--keep at it!

I've been accepted!

Such a relief! I have been placed in the Fall cohort as well and my letter of confirmation is due on the 30th of April.

Can't wait to get to know all of you better!

Also my name is Alyssa but I go by Liss or Lissa.

I applied last year and did not get in. I found out mid-February. So I applied again this year, and I am thinking no news is good news! The wait is killing me though! I checked previous threads on this site, and over the years, some accepted students have been notified via email, phone call, or snail mail. I'm checking all three like a mad woman! I'm getting so excited!
