I just found out my GPA is low too! I thought I had a competitive GPA but got told my GPA is too low (clearly I miscalculated). Now that I know, I have a better sense of direction. I’m going to start looking into ADN programs and try my luck there.

You should consider Touro College, they have no prerequisites just an entrance exam.

My understanding is that hospitals do hire RNs with an Associate's Degree, however it's hard when compared to those who will have a Bachelor's. Not only that, with the BS in 10 Bill in full effect, if you do get hired with an Associate's, you're given a full 10 years to go back and complete your Bachelor's. Hospitals are requiring more nurses be hired with a Bachelor's. Not very reassuring, but also not impossible.

Turns out my overall/combine GPA is a 2.62! A counselor at Mercy College was kind enough to reveal this to me. This whole time I thought they would take the GPA I got on my Bachelor's (3.5) and then combine it with with my prereq GPA (3.3). Totally mistaken. Because I already have a degree, it's incredibly difficult to raise my GPA. So, the only option for me is to look into ADN programs.

I've also looked into Saint Vincent and am also terrified of organic Chemistry LOL ?

Nope, it's a four year program but the more classes/prerequisites you have taken the quicker you can graduate. For most of us it would take two years max to graduate because we have completed most of the classes.

Good morning all,

I still have no updates on my application. I called my assigned counselor and he said I am still under review, and am not accepted or rejected yet. I also asked him if this was any indication of which way my application would go (I.e I'm rejected) and he said no. Is anyone else in the same boat?

@sigtime there are still interview times available off the email I received. So I’m sure they’re waiting till they do more interviews before they send our additional requests. Keep your head up!

That is such a relief to hear. That actually made me feel a lot better. Thank you!

at the interview- when they ask you about the last book you read, do they ask you to elaborate on the book? or just title and author?
