Hi!

I wanted to start a thread for those applying to the fall 2020 ABSN program at Pace so we can go through this application process together!

at the interview- when they ask you about the last book you read, do they ask you to elaborate on the book? or just title and author?

No you have to talk what is it about, and how it has helped you or your interest in it

Those accepted, have you guys considered how to pay for tuition. They told us in the interview that is $70,000 and they don’t offer scholarships or grants. I’m worried about this.

Specializes in nursing.

like how it helped my interest in wanting to become a nurse?

No just talk about it and how it has helped you as a person. For example I talked about a book that helped discipline children without drama and how to nurture them into confidence instead of constant punishment. I said this book helped a lot because I’m a mom of two and I caught myself punishing them instead of actually tackling the source of their behavior and them having the trust to tell me the truth instead of hiding it from me due to fear of punishment.

Specializes in Bachelors in Biological science.

Hi,

I had my interview on February 25, and got accepted the day after to the program. I was just wondering if there was a facebook group or something similar for those who were accepted.

Oh great congratulations! I did as well! Did you get accepted anywhere else? Are you choosing to go?

Hello!

Just got my acceptance today. However, I live in the suburbs of Sacramento CA, so I'm a little nervous about relocation to NYC. For Pace, do nursing students typically seek housing on or off-campus? How do students transfer to clinical sites? I was told there might be clinical placements in Connecticut and New Jersey, so I'm a bit nervous about that too. I don't know much about the school, and I am still waiting until June to hear back from my first choice, but I want to be prepared just in case I decide to go.

You have two weeks to decide if you want to go to Pace or not, to make the deposit. I’m not sure how much is housing and how that works. About clinical in Jersey and Connecticut, now they are pushing it. So many hospitals in NYC it will be very difficult for city students to travel that far especially to be there at 7am

May I ask how much the deposit is for those that were accepted?

The deposit to save your space is $200, and a housing deposit is an additional $500.

Thanks so much! I was just curious!

Have clinical always been in NJ and Connecticut for previous cohorts as well? That's the biggest concern I have as I did not know about this until the interview.
