Does anyone know the new grad pay for UPMC? How does that compare to other Pennsylvania hospitals?

No, but I too would be interested in hearing what other new grads are getting paid inside and outside Philly in PA. I've heard some places have been decreasing pay of what they use to hire new grads and only hiring part-time without benefits to cut costs compared to recent years. This is kind of discouraging considering how much debt I'll have and be paying back.
Well I applied to a new grad job at the Children's Hospital at UPMC (Children's of Pittsburgh) and at the bottom it said
salary range
23.00
25.13
31.75

But I am not sure if that's just in general for nurses there. I'm also curious about differentials as well. Hopefully someone can tell us

23.00 is the starting rate. As far as differentials you earn 1.00 more per hour for overnight.
Oh okay thank you. Is that similar for other hospitals in the state?

I work outside of Philadelphia and make 24.00 but with shift diff I make 25.50. I found in this particular area it's a little bit above the other near hospitals but in Philadelphia they tend to pay closer to 30 an hour and some pay slightly over 30 but you're paying city wage tax. I do work full time but I have noticed more part time positions being offered. I was actually only interviewed for part time positions as a new grad for all jobs around here but when I was hired part time my job changed their mind due to need and hired me full time.

I was pleasantly surprised to see HR start new grads $30.00/hr in Philly area home health agency for Central Intake position in 2014.

It will definitely depend where you are working - cost of living is lower in Pittsburgh compared to Philadelphia so I would expect that salaries are also.
You'd also have to take the benefits into account - medical insurance costs, tuition reimbursement etc all contribute to the overall compensation package.

I will be graduating in March from Drexel's ACE program with my BSN. Do you have the name of this particular home care agency by ay chance? Or any other new grad opportunities?

For someone with a BSN, it seems like the starting rate is $23.50 for many hospitals in Pittsburgh, and can go slightly up from there depending on the floor. The lowest salary I've heard for a new grad nurse in the city was $22.50, but that was at a rehab hospital.

I work in Philadelphia area...graduated may 2013 and had one year experience (not in hospital setting) My now employer started me at $29 plus $3.75 night differential plus an additional $1.10 for weekends. Not too shabby :)

When I was a new grad, i had a few offers (network, people!) ranging from 27 to 31 per hour without shift differential in and immediately surrounding philly. More north into lehigh valley-it was 23, more west into central PA in was low to mid 20s as well.
