Overwhelmed

Just picked up all of the required text's that my school requires for nursing 1. HOLY %*•#. 11 books with another 8 CD's. $700 and 45 lbs. of books.

I start on sept 5th and am now officially overwhelmed and scared out of my mind.

We have all been there and felt that, but remeber Rome wasn't built in a day and neither will you be expected to know everything that are in those text books in a day. If you were accepted into the progam it was because you displayed the capabilities of becoming a Nurse. Hang in there you will do fine .

21 books here and 450 pages of those books due the first day of lab which we didn't find out until the day before. I feel your pain.

Fun Times!

No need to be scared...the quantity/weight of texts does not indicate the difficulty of the courses. That's mostly impacted by the instructors themselves.

One day at a time....

Good luck!

;)

15 books ($1070,) scrubs ($100,) stethoscope kit ($119,) software ($140,) tuition ($4000) immunizations ($300)-ONE semester!! Good Lord!!!

I had that same feeling, but only two or three texts were actually used on a regular basis in my Fundamentals course and most of the texts will get me through my entire program with a couple more books peppered in for things like psych, maternety and pediatrics. I did sleep with my Fundamentals text most nights as the amount of reading was overwhelming in the beginning. No use reading ahead though because most of what you will read will be forgotten by the time you start class. Better to read just before the lectures and be prepared to ask questions if you don't understand something you read.

im going to try to find used copies where i can, and search the rest on Amazon.

Its going to be a mad dash as soon as we find out what books we need.
