OU Traditional BSN Fall 2016

U.S.A. Oklahoma

I haven't seen a thread for it, so I thought I'd start one...has anyone else applied for OU's Fall 2016 Traditional BSN program?! :) I applied to all 3 campuses!

Not a personal advisor, just a general advisor for all 3 campuses! I'd post her name but they don't allow names on this forum! They have a pre-nursing major email list at OU so I routinely get emails about the pre-nursing club/pre-nursing advising opportunities on OU's campus.

Gotcha! Well hopefully we all get in! Here's to most likely waiting 2 more weeks!

I applied to Tulsa and OKC! Good luck everyone!

I sent an email to OUHSC Nursing advisor yesterday. I received a response today stating the same thing I was told over the phone, " any day now."... Good luck everyone!

I really hope they don't make us wait much longer. I am getting anxious especially seeing friends getting into other surrounding schools. I am hoping that this upcoming week is when they let us know.

Did anyone apply to other schools?

Does anyone know admission statistics for last year?

@Taurus87, I asked the nursing advisor why they didn't post GPAs from last year's admission cycle (they used to always posted the GPAs of the last year's applicants & those accepted). She said they took it down because it was deterring people from applying lol. The average overall & science GPAs for OKC was about 3.6 for both for the year before last year, but they accept a range of GPAs because they accept 100+ people a year.

Tulsa's was about 3.7 for both overall & science, and Lawton was 3.4 for overall and 3.3 for science. But it all depends on how many people apply each year. Compared to other years I had seen, those GPAs were kind of high.

is there a way to find out how many people applied this year too?

I wonder how true those statistics were. I know several of my lab mates at OU and a couple of my friends who were accepted into the program early last year with high gpa's, but they dropped a lot when they settled for C's and B's in their last few classes before school started.

@sunshine349, there's no way to know right now I think :(

@beejayaye, I'm pretty certain it's the GPA they had on the application itself, not the GPA they had when all their prerequisites were done. I don't think they care about your GPA as long as it's above the requirements for the college once your accepted.

They said at the sneak peak 129 people applied to tulsa and 40 will get accepted. Idk about the other campuses though.

Nice!! That's almost the exact amount that applied/were admitted the year I was referring to when I posted the GPAs. 129 applied/40 admitted. Kind of low compared to other years I think. The year before that one 197 people applied for 40 spots. I wish we knew the # applied to other campuses as well!! But that seems like a good sign...
