Paper done.......Ready for week 2?????
Makes ya crazy, eh? Well, my TA has a heart and gave me 5 points so I am now at least passing by OU standards. My last class I had a 99.5% at the end. There is no real standard for grading papers...some are so picky. And why? We are not in a MSN program. I know we need to follow APA standards, etc but there is absolutely no consistency in grading.Congratulations to all you winners! I'll see you at the end as I'm pulling up the rear...
Glad for ya!!! It's a such a relief isn't it?? Well I am emailing her about this because only one reference was out of place (so ONE point) I didn't even notice and it is a frustrating as hell! All that work to miss a perfect score on the thing....story of my life when it comes to grades. Although having a perfect score is a DREAM to me! lol.
Yes, communicate most definitely. However, you obviously did a fantastic job! So happy for you. I recall the nightmarish start to 300...you've come a long way, baby! Never thougth I'd be relieve to get an 80%. I still feel like a flunky. How in the world will they grade the DB group project??!! The rubric is vague. We shall see. My other thought: we have to reply to other DB groups. Can you say redundancy??? Let's see...how many ways can I reword the same thing??? I can just here Chuckster at the end of this class, lol!

Now ain't that just the cat's meow! You will probably find it easier since there are less slackers to deal with. They'll probably move you to a different group next module...so you can start the fun all over again! How did the paper go for you? I can hardly wait to write the next one...yippee!
Chuckster, you deserve an award for starting this forum. It is truly my therapeutic outlet...as is this entire site. I would crumble without my cyber friends.

I did look ahead and it appears to be much of the same . But that can be a good thing too! And VAGUE & REDUNDANT ?????? Not the words for it. Oh well. We have almost 2 weeks done....good feeling. You will pull right outta this, I know it, mtsteelhorse!
O.K....my TA took off 2 1/2 points because my references were not in alphabetical order......is this for real????? Really worth THAT much?
If it makes you feel any better, my TA took off a full point because the font used for my references was not the same as was used in the body of the assignment.
I am so thankful this $%#&*@ class is only 5 weeks long. I bombed on the mod 1 paper and have lost motivation. Thanks to the fabulous IT dept I didn't even get into the class until last Thur evening. I busted my hump and got a horrible grade...the worst grade I've received since majoring in "beer" in 1980. I can't believe it. I either need a tissue or a drink. This sucks. Thanks for letting me rant...my fingers feel better.
I'm sorry I agree with you that this class is %$#$%!!! Is there nothing that can be done about the fact that you were not able to even get in your modules?

Mine took off only half a point because I forgot to do hanging indentations. Given the paper only has 20 points but is worth 20% of your grade, 2 1/2 points seem a bit excessive...
How about loosing points for putting the name of the university on the coverpage. The Apa tips instructions TA gave us has this in the coverpage format. When I was in Business communication. I got dinged for double spacing my list of references. I figured out how to single space the references, now I get dinged for single spacing it. I think each teacher come with their own version of APA style. I don't get.. They are grading this class like it is an English class.Mine took off only half a point because I forgot to do hanging indentations. Given the paper only has 20 points but is worth 20% of your grade, 2 1/2 points seem a bit excessive...
While I check these boards almost daily, I usually don't post anything. However, I just HAD to comment on this. Some TAs want the date things were 'Retrieved from'. Some tell you it's no longer required. Same with having the name of the university on the cover page, line spacing of references, etc. ***** I wish each instructor would give us a sample APA paper, so we could have a clue what they want. Or better yet, they could just get a copy of the most current APA Style Guide and figure it out for themselves. Unfortunately, this has happened in most of my classes. Soooo frustrating! Okay. Enough complaining- must finish group participation...
