Hey! Has anyone else applied to the absn program for 2019? Or heard back yet? I applied to Lawton in the spring and to OKC for summer.

How do you like the program? I am mostly concerned about my GPA in terms of being accepted. I have a 3.75 Science GPA and a 3.49 last 60 hours, so I think I am right on the border! I have finished all of my pre-reqs except Developmental Psychology. I have 2 weeks left in that class. OU emailed me asking about that pre-req. I hope that is a good sign. I previously have a Master's in Education in Secondary Science Education.
Is there anyone on here that is reapplying if you didn't get accepted last time?
No one is talking on the 2020 thread!
Hi! It sounds like you have a pretty solid GPA and your pre-reqs are almost done so that’s great. I’m not super sure about the stats of my cohort but I think you’d be a pretty competitive applicant.
Good luck with your application! :)

Hi! I appreciate your vote of confidence! Are you going to Tulsa Campus? I have some questions about the daily schedule for future planning in case I get in. I am going to have some serious planning done before the decisions even roll out in terms of my current job. The only I can do that is by talking to someone in the program currently at Tulsa.

I'm enjoying the program, it's very busy but doable. I feel like for the most part the professors really care and want us to become nurses and want to help get us there. People in our cohort have all kinds of backgrounds.
Good luck, let me know if you have any other specific questions. I don't know what your application process deadlines and stuff look like this year but it was a tight turn around from the end of March to starting in June, which I thought was a pain. But, just be patient.
Thanks for the info! The turn around time from being accepted to starting the program is my biggest problem right now. I have to set things up to leave my job. In order to do that, I have to do some planning and need to know what the daily schedule is like for the Tulsa program ?

Yes, I’m in the Tulsa cohort. What specific questions do you have about the schedule? I’m not sure I have all the answers, but hopefully I can help.

Do you spend all day in class Mon-Fri? What does a typical day look like for you? What about for any type of clinicals?

I just received an email that says I'm in already. Did anyone else receive a decision this early before? I feel like they made a mistake.

I also got an acceptance email today. The application deadline is earlier this year, so I'm hoping they've just sped up the whole process and it's not a mistake!

The schedule is complex. Plan to be in class or studying Monday-Friday 8-5. Your clinicals start earlier in the morning. The most important thing is to be flexible and keep a planner with you with all assignment due dates, class times, etc. in it because it’s a lot to keep up with, especially at first.
