OU 2020 ABSN PROGRAM (2019 APPLICANT)
I found out I was in before the application deadline, but I submitted everything on the first day it was available. I had also sent in my transcripts before I applied. As soon as I switched to verified status on Nursing CAS, I got an email asking about my in progress class. I answered back and then immediately got an acceptance email.

OU 2020 ABSN PROGRAM (2019 APPLICANT)
It is okay to be currently enrolled in pre reqs. It is not okay if they will not be finished before the program starts. They definitely prefer you to have most of them finished before applying, especially if they will count against your science GPA. My last 60 GPA was 3.5 and my Science GPA was 3.75. I have a Master's and a Bachelor's so I don't know if that helped me at all.

OU 2020 ABSN PROGRAM (2019 APPLICANT)
You must have them all done before the program starts. Because it is an accelerated program, there isn't really going to be time to work on pre reqs (or anything else) once it starts. You have to wait until they receive them then you have to wait until they check them. It takes a few weeks after they get the transcripts to check or "confirm" them. You can submit your app first and it will update once it is confirmed. Did you submit an application on the OU website too?

OU 2019 absn (2018 applicant)
I submitted my application the first day applications opened. I sent in my transcripts about a week or so before so they already had them beforehand. I only applied to the Tulsa campus.

I just received an email that says I'm in already. Did anyone else receive a decision this early before? I feel like they made a mistake.

Do you spend all day in class Mon-Fri? What does a typical day look like for you? What about for any type of clinicals?

OU 2019 absn (2018 applicant)
Hi! I appreciate your vote of confidence! Are you going to Tulsa Campus? I have some questions about the daily schedule for future planning in case I get in. I am going to have some serious planning done before the decisions even roll out in terms of my current job. The only I can do that is by talking to someone in the program currently at Tulsa. Thanks for the info! The turn around time from being accepted to starting the program is my biggest problem right now. I have to set things up to leave my job. In order to do that, I have to do some planning and need to know what the daily schedule is like for the Tulsa program ?

OU 2019 absn (2018 applicant)
Hello everyone! I have submitted my application for OU's ABSN program in Tulsa for 2020. Now that you are in, is there any advice you can give? How do you like the program? I am mostly concerned about my GPA in terms of being accepted. I have a 3.75 Science GPA and a 3.49 last 60 hours, so I think I am right on the border! I have finished all of my pre-reqs except Developmental Psychology. I have 2 weeks left in that class. OU emailed me asking about that pre-req. I hope that is a good sign. I previously have a Master's in Education in Secondary Science Education. Is there anyone on here that is reapplying if you didn't get accepted last time? No one is talking on the 2020 thread!

CRNA options for Oklahoma nurses
Wow! This is a lot of great information! Thank you so much! Do you know what year the cut off will be for a master's vs a doctorate for CRNAs?

CRNA options for Oklahoma nurses
Hello everyone! I am currently trying to get into my BSN program at OU. My overall goal is to become a nurse anesthetist. Because I live in Oklahoma, there are not any CRNA programs available near me. I cannot move to another state to attend school at this time, but that might be an option in the future. Does anyone have recommendations on being able to complete a CRNA program while staying in Oklahoma and maybe just having to travel a little bit here and there? Does anyone have recommendations for getting into a CRNA program? Anything I can do now to help my chances at getting in? Also, I have heard rumors about requirements for a doctorate vs a master's changing in the future. Does anyone know anything about that?

undocumented nursing students or graduates
I am a teacher and I had a student that was going to go to college for nursing school. She did not know that being undocumented was a problem. We found out that she could not go. She ended up attending community college and getting a translators certificate. She can't do anything with it. She does NOT have DACA, a driver's license, etc. If anyone here is interested in helping me guide her further into her education, please send me a private message! I would love to hear what you have to say. She does not want to get fake papers. I am so happy I found this thread!
