OU ABSN 2018 (2017 Applicant)

Published

Hey there! I am looking to apply this fall for the 2018 OU ABSN program. Any others find their way here yet?

I am still finishing up my first bachelor's degree but will be done in Dec. 2017. I was told that I can still apply in the fall.

I am expecting rejection or waitlisted due to the fact that I won't be finished with my degree, and my cumulative gpa is pretty rough. Hoping to have a 4.0 in last 60 and a 4.0 in Science with a pre-reqs completed to give myself a shot.

Would love to find others on this same journey!

For those who were accepted to Tulsa - Angela just informed me that we will receive information on it in January or February!

Is Angela responding promptly to all of your emails? I have emailed her twice and heard nothing. Same thing with Debbie

Okay thank you for letting us know!!! It annoying how behind they are.

The first one no but the second one yes. I'm so sorry about what happened. That's not cool

I was accepted to the Tulsa ABSN program. YEAH!!! I paid my admission fee and read everything. I feel like I should have a login for the self service portal but I don't. If anyone can help me on that or let me know I'm up to speed I would appreciate it. I'm thinking I missed a step some where. Other than that should we just start collecting our immunization info? Have you been able to upload your info?

sjw83 and nicoleram thank you for your posts. They were really helpful. I figured out I'm just a little behind you in the process.

Congrats on your acceptance!! So far I haven't uploaded anything. The most I've set up is my email, self-service, and online classroom with my username and password. I probably won't do much from there besides getting my information together, until orientation bc everything is kind of confusing for me at least lol need to hear what exactly to do more in person if that makes sense.

They'll email you instructions on how to set up your email and stuff like that, if you haven't got that already.

Thank youí ½í¹‚

Someone private messaged me. I can't receive private messages until I have so many posts. And after thank you it was supposed to be a smiley face emoji.

So, for those accepted to Lawton, what was orientation like? How soon do they expect you guys to be moved in and ready to start?

Orientation was a lot of them just going over how to upload everything on the orientation checklist. We did take our pictures for our id's and get to try on scrubs to get an idea of what size to order. Other than that it was a long and boring day. Orientation was on the December 19th and we start class on January 16th so we should be moved in by then.
