OSU Grad Entry 2021

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Good Afternoon Everyone!

I am apply in August 2020 for Summer 2021! I am so very excited about this opportunity, as it will allow me to become a CNM in 3-4 years rather than 10-12 (ish) years (getting an ASN, 1-2 years to get into L&D as a nurse, 1-2 years of L&D experience/get BSN, and finally MSN program). I have huge dreams, but it all starts here. I am super nervous about admissions because I didn't do too amazing during my undergrad (I was young and just doing it to have a degree) and graduated with a 2.8. I did do pretty well with my graduate degree (3.8), so i am hoping that will help. I called and he said that not having a 3.0 in undergrad won't disqualify me. I have also gotten A's in each of the pre-reqs that I have taken so far (though I am taking pharm this semester).

I look forward to hearing feedback and also connect with other students who are applying this year as well.

I also haven’t see many AG students through previous years on this blog. I went to the information session last September and there weren’t many in the group when we broke off into sessions. Did you attend any of the sessions?

I did not attend any sessions! I am planning on joining their next zoom call! Could you give me a small run down of what you learned/ thought was important?

Hey guys! Also applying for the 2021 cycle. Specializing in peds. REALLY hopeful but I hear the program is competitive. Good luck to you all!

I have heard the same, but felt pretty good after the information session. I have opened the information session a handful of times already but am working on trying to get my purpose statement down to three pages. I am sending all the luck!

I can start a facebook page if that is easier than this if anyone is interested.

I am the original poster but can't remember my password ?‍♀️.

When you say you opened the information session a handful of time- did they give you an information packet or was it something recorded? I'm signed up for the September session but really wanted to have my app complete before then. I still haven't submitted my purpose statement so I am interested to hear what they say. What are you specializing in?

I would be interested in a facebook page!!

The next info session is Sept 10 at Noon! https://nursing.osu.edu/event/graduate-entry-online-information-session-0

Good luck to everyone! I just finished my first draft of the personal statement and I'm already wanting to tweak it.

I am planning to apply next fall for the 2022 cohort.  Do you know if they will accept combined A&P courses (instead of separate anatomy and physiology courses)?  I am currently taking - A&PI and will take A&PII later this fall at a community college.

I’ve read on some older OSU threads that a lot of students work 30 hrs/wk to get the free tuition.  That just sounds crazy to me.  I would have assumed that the program was too accelerated to manage 30 hrs of work/week although the tuition benefit sounds amazing.  I wonder if this applies if a spouse works full-time at OSU?

I am not sure if they accept it but if you email them directly ([email protected]) they usually respond in a few days.

Also- I hadn't heard of that! That would be amazing if it can be managed. They may be university administration/desk jobs and I've heard of people bringing school stuff with them to work on during down time so maybe that is possible with this situation as well?

I am also applying PNP! Good luck to you ? I just have the interview left as well- hopefully yours went well! If you found any helpful tips I would love to hear them!

Former music teacher here. Just applied for PMHNP. Just waiting for my last two letter to submit. That interview was not fun haha.

I’m applying to the GE-AGNP program. I have submitted everything except my interview. My references and transcripts have been completed. I’m very nervous for the interview. I’ve heard from a couple people they ask questions like “where you see yourself in five years”, why you chose the speciality track, the changes you’ve made, describe your role as a NP.
