Hi Everyone!
This is super early to talk about applying to nursing school for 2016, but it's always better to be well-prepared! Let's share some thoughts and help each other out!
I am re-applying to nursing schools as I did not get in last year, and planning to enroll to more courses for pre-reqs and to increase my GPA (I graduated with a B.A.)hopefully this year will be much better and with luck!!!!
I have a few universities in mind to apply -
Should I apply to more? Which one should I apply? I am super eager to enter the program and I failed once, failing twice is not allowed!
Feel Free to give me suggestions or ask questions! Here is a link I found online listing most of the second entry nursing programs.
Best wishes to everyone! Good Luck!

I've applied to Queen's and U of T for their fast-track nursing programs. I feel like I'm one of the few people you haven't heard from Queen's yetanyone else in the same boat? Also, has anyone heard from U of T?
I didn't apply to Queen's, but I haven't heard from U of T yet (or York, the other place I applied). I'm not sure when U of T's first round of offers goes out... they have had our material for a month now so maybe soon?
Hey guys! I know I got caught up reading forums last year when I was applying and it freaked me out. I got into U of T's program last year in May. As I recall, people started to get accepted in April. They accepted people with at least 76.5% (which rounds to 77%/ B+). They really put a lot of focus on the supplemental application and having experience. The program is absolutely amazing, I have a friend in the Western program and U of T's program has a lot better placements. All of our placements are downtown and we have priority at most of the hospitals. (Western you can get sent to Owen Sound, Woodstock, etc). If you look at the Current Students- Course Timetables, you can see all of the courses/ placements we get. You are guaranteed Geriatrics (at a hospital, not long term care), Maternity (post-partum, labour and delivery), Acute Care (gen med/ surg), Pediatrics (over half of students are at Sick Kids) and Mental Health. So if you're trying to choose, U of T is amazing! If you have any questions about the program, let me know :) I understand the stress that you're all going through haha

what was your gpa for applying to u of t, and what kind of experience did you have prior to the program?
I don't know if anyone knows this but, HOW to offers get sent out? Is it through OUAC, e-mail, or each schools site? I applied to McMaster, UWO, Trent, Lakehead and York. I already got accepted to Trent and Lakehead on OUAC/e-mail/their sites but I'm wondering how Mac, UWO and York notify applicants first and approximately when? I realize the CASPer may change York and Mac's timeline from last year but still a general idea would be great I'm dying to know. My McMaster application on Mosaic student centre says denied but I think that's because they have supplementary application listed under requirements which the school no longer uses, so I'm thinking that's an admin error? Or I'm actually denied... I don't see anything on OUAC or my e-mail though.
I don't remember my exact GPA but my average was a B+. I had research, first aid volunteering, administration, volunteering at a children's playroom, I was part of a dance club and taught with them, I played intramurals and I worked in patient transport. I made up for my lower average by having a lot of patient care experience and great references.
