Ontario Second-Entry Nursing (2015)

I know it's early, but let's get a thread going. 2015-hopefuls, share your thoughts, concerns, questions, and experiences here!

Anyone else waiting on a response from UOttawa? They said to expect a response by mid-March... However last year I saw that some people were getting answers in Feb.

Hi :D I'm an external applicant... I'm in my last semester at Brock working on a Bio degree.

@ak11rs-

Im internal so I think our dates for hearing back are diffrernt! best of luck finishing your degree :)

Oh okay! Thanks you too :) Are internal applicants supposed to hear back from before external ones? Or vice versa?

Hey, just an update for anyone who applied to Lakehead. I went to the admissions office to drop off some transcript stuff yesterday and was told the first round of admissions isn't expected to go out before early march.

I think you hear back first :) Good luck!

Hi! I'm just finishing my Biopharmaceutical Science degree at uOttawa, I've applied to Western, Mac, York, and Calgary for the compressed programs. I didn't have the pre-req's to apply for Ottawa's compressed program. Apparently they only take 20 students. My GPA in my last 10 courses is 3.63 and my cGPA is 3.52. I'm completing 4 fourth year science courses right now (12 credits) + my honours project (9 credits). Will they look at this semester? Is that even possible? I'm really hoping for Western or Calgary!

I applied to Humber's Second Entry Nursing program last year and did not get in. The admissions advisor told me that accepted those with a 3.3 or higher last year & those with a 3.2 were put on the waitlist. I also have the Missing Requirements on my application. This year I have the 3.3 so hopefully all goes well!

If anyone has further information about this years cut off that would be fantastic.

Good luck to anyone and keep us posted on your acceptances :)

Has anyone received an offer from Humber yet? On my profile it still says "Program Requirement Not Met: Bachelor's Degree with a Minimum Overall Grade Point Average (GPA) of 74%". I received an offer last year on Feb 1st.

Do you mind me asking your GPA for your last 10 credits for last year? Thanks!

I applied last year but didn't get in, they told me I missed the cut off by .1 GPA point. I took upgraded courses and hopefully it's now enough! Unless it's higher this year of course

@annapk: I have a 3.5 in my last 60 credit hours. Here's hoping we both get in!

@Anon101: That's great! I'm at a 3.3 so I hope that will cut it this year. That was the cut off last year so here's hoping!

Hey everyone,

Been following this thread extensively of the past few weeks - very excited for everyone! I have applied to Trent, Nipissing, U of T, York and Humber for September, with Trent and U of T being my number 1 choices. Does anyone have an idea as to when we will start hearing back from these schools? Already anxious!

Best of luck to everyone :)
