I know it's early, but let's get a thread going. 2015-hopefuls, share your thoughts, concerns, questions, and experiences here!
Honestly I don't even know what the total amount of hours we need is..haha they don't provide us much info. I'm sure it says somewhere in the handbook or something. This semester we are doing 12 hours of clinical every week plus another 2 and half hour lab for a different class. The amount of clinical hours is increased during the summer semester I believe because it is compressed (I think its ~20 hours of clinical a week plus possibly another lab? Not too sure).Not too sure about when people above the cutoff got their offers...I know last year a whole bunch of offers went out right at the beginning of Feb and they had like 3 months to accept and everyone else was waitlisted BUT then tons of people accepted offers at different schools so a lot of people got in off the waitlist. Acceptances continued all the way into August I believe.
Aaaand I think there's about 70 people in the program now!
Thank you so much! That's a tremendous help.
Eek, that's a pretty small pool. I guess I'll cross my fingers and hope for the best.
Hi everyone,
I applied to Western but haven't heard back yet. I heard that the early admission cutoff was 88%, and my average is 87.1% (so...close..). I've heard conflicting reports about when the second round of offers go out. The admissions office told me they send out offers on a rolling basis so I could hear back at any time, but the counsellor for the Nursing Program told me that I shouldn't expect a decision until Mid-May.
Anyone have any ideas?

If that's the case, you're so close and I'm sure you should be hearing back soon enough :)! 88% in last 5 FEC, 10 FCE or CGPA?
@oaksy Based on the last 10 courses taken. Have you applied to Western?
The reason I'm so worried is because I'm taking Biology 235 (anatomy & physiology) through Athabasca University.. so if I do get an offer, it will be conditional on the basis that I complete the course. On UWO's website, it says that students with completed pre-req's are given preference over students who are taking pre-req's during the summer. So even if I do have a competitive average at 87.1%, I'm not sure if other students with lower averages but completed pre-reqs will get accepted before me.
@tdmah I did apply to Western, as well as U of T and York. My average that they can see for my last 10 FCEs right now is 87.5%. So funny if the cutoff was actually 88% for early admission, and too bad this semester isn't done yet to bump that up haha! The course that you're taking runs through the summer? I am still completing my anatomy course, but I'll be done in a few weeks.

You should definitely get in then! The course I'm taking is online and self-paced, so I'm trying to finish it ASAP but it will definitely take me a couple months. I imagine I'll be finished in late June/early July.
@tdmah
I applied to Western last year (didn't get in) however I received my rejection mid-may, a lot of other people also received their rejection/acceptance on the exact same day I did so I would guess that there is a specific date mid-may that they send out most notices. Western likes to wait for final grades (did my undergrad there) and that's probably why it's so late, however your average is super competitive so I would expect you are probably going to hear back before then.
@smwxo Thanks for your reply!
The only thing I'm really concerned about is the fact that they will not have received my final grades by mid-May because I'm completing Anatomy & Physiology through Athabasca University online (to be finished around June/July). Hopefully I get a conditional offer...
Have you applied this year?
