Hey everyone!
I haven't seen a post for Fall 2021 yet so here it is!
My choices are:
1. UofT
2. McMaster
3. Nipissing SPP
I started my OUAC application in November and now trying to work on the supplemental packages. My CASPer Test is on January 12, 2021.
I need to take Anatomy and Physio course(s) however, I'm having a hard time figuring out what would satisfy the requirements from all three universities. My options so far are:
1. Take CBLG 101 in Winter and CBLG 111 in Spring at Ryerson. However final grade will be in June; hoping that's fine. This satisfies all 3 unis
2. Take SCS 2159 in Winter from UofT which is enough for UofT and McMaster but not for Nipissing. I have to take an Anatomy course just for Nip.
I have a Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education from back home, been working as an RECE in Toronto the last 8 years, have a Diploma in Nonprofit Management at Ryerson. My cGPA is 3.55 which I'm worried about. Lots of extra curricular activities from university and volunteering here in Toronto. I still have to compute the GPA for the last two years.
I requested WES to send my transcripts to Nip and McMaster and asked my old uni to send to UofT.
It's been an expensive application so far; really hoping I get in! Looking forward to chatting with you all and sharing our experiences.

Congrats on the offers everyone!!
hey! I'm not too sure about the major differences between the 2, to be honest, but I can relay what I know! the same things apply above. In addition, McMaster has a "PBL" (problem-based learning) approach which is highly respected by hospitals (so I have heard). when I was applying to the 4-year program in grade 12 McMaster was actually my top because I remember hearing amazing things about the program! Also what I heard from my mac nursing friends was that you sort of pick your placements, rather than having a certain field assigned. for instance in some schools when you are learning a certain topic, you do a placement in that field at the same time. mcmaster also has great hospitals in hamilton, and sometimes I heard your placements can go beyond hamilton (if you choose so). overall, again really amazing programs, I recommend a pros and cons list for each!

I was hoping to get some of your thoughts on which school I should pick especially based off areas such as curriculum and placement. I recently got accepted to both Uoft and Western and I cant seem to decide especially since the deadline is so soon. Is anyone able to to offer some insight of what they heard about these schools program both good and bad! Id really appreciate the guidance:) thanks in advance!!
I can't speak for western but for uoft:
we get mental health, geriatric, med-surg, pediatric and post-partum (with shadow shift on labour and delivery) all in the first year. this helps us explore different areas of nursing and perhaps decide what areas we wish to work on earlier in our nursing school journey. In the second year, we have acute and community, followed by consolidation. for acute, you get to rank what are you wish to explore e.g. cardiac, oncology, ped, etc as well as community e.g. home setting, family and youth, etc. We also get 7-10 hospitals to rank from for each rotations (minus the ped - its SK and HBV mostly), and this also gives us some varieties in experiencing diff hospitals
Hope this helps.
Hey everyone...I just found this forum, congrats to everyone that has received acceptances and stay patient to all those who are still waiting!
I received an offer for the UofT accelerated nursing program last Friday. I was wondering if anyone else going to UofT is going to be looking for housing in Toronto, as I would prefer to rent with someone in my program. I can’t believe how expensive Toronto is... crying a little on the inside. Also would anyone be interested in starting a group chat for UofT nursing?
I am still waiting to hear back from McMaster as well, hopefully they release offers soon!

Congratulations to those who have already received acceptances and good luck if you are waiting for more!
Has anyone received word on Queen's and Nipissing? I am anxiously waiting!
Hey, I got accepted to Queen’s and I remember they said in their info session that they only sent out a hand full of offers so far, rest go out mid April on a rolling basis.
Hey everyone, I reached out to McMaster admissions to ask when they would be sending out offers and they said they didn’t have a set date but sometime in may. My western offer expires may first, but my top choice is McMaster. I read somewhere that if I accepted one school, it can cancel out offers to another school, does anyone know if that’s true?

I'm in the same situation as well!

I don’t think that’s true, many people accept and then accept somewhere else when they hear from them:)
