Hey everyone!
I haven't seen a post for Fall 2021 yet so here it is!
My choices are:
1. UofT
2. McMaster
3. Nipissing SPP
I started my OUAC application in November and now trying to work on the supplemental packages. My CASPer Test is on January 12, 2021.
I need to take Anatomy and Physio course(s) however, I'm having a hard time figuring out what would satisfy the requirements from all three universities. My options so far are:
1. Take CBLG 101 in Winter and CBLG 111 in Spring at Ryerson. However final grade will be in June; hoping that's fine. This satisfies all 3 unis
2. Take SCS 2159 in Winter from UofT which is enough for UofT and McMaster but not for Nipissing. I have to take an Anatomy course just for Nip.
I have a Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education from back home, been working as an RECE in Toronto the last 8 years, have a Diploma in Nonprofit Management at Ryerson. My cGPA is 3.55 which I'm worried about. Lots of extra curricular activities from university and volunteering here in Toronto. I still have to compute the GPA for the last two years.
I requested WES to send my transcripts to Nip and McMaster and asked my old uni to send to UofT.
It's been an expensive application so far; really hoping I get in! Looking forward to chatting with you all and sharing our experiences.

I was just wondering how OSAP works (especially for Toronto since rent is absurd). Does OSAP cover tuition for the 2 years? Does it also cover rent and groceries etc? Would I have to take a personal bank loan?
Thank you!
Osap only covers 30% of tuition. It does not take into account the location you are living and rent. You can take out student loans from the National Student Loan Centre, they do take into account your personal financial and living situation to figure out how much of a loan to take out. I am not sure how much they would give you I’m assuming not enough to cover the remaining books and tuition left from the 30% that OSAP gives. You can take out a student line of credit from you bank to cover extras like rent, groceries and books!
Hope that helps

Here’s the link to the OSAP estimator, it’ll give you an idea of how much you’re eligible for! ?

Is it really 30% of tuition? Where did you read/hear about that? I got $17k from OSAP this year (12k grants, 5k loans), but my tuition is only 10k and I had 6k in scholarships. So most of that money went towards my living expenses since I live away from home. I know that is much higher than what the average OSAP applicant receives - it's likely related to the fact my mom is in a lower income bracket and is a single parent. However, I don't think there's a set % as the amount I got wouldn't make sense. I consistently get over 10k from OSAP every year so I think income level plays a larger role than anything else.

Hey!
I applied pretty much when it came out (late feb/early march) and received an offer 1.5 weeks ago. It was a firm offer. I finished my undergrad at uoft. hope this helps and good luck on apps!

Yes, my bad. Sorry when I did my first undergrad it was 30% but I just looked into it and it’s definitely changed, depending on if you are dependent, married or single/independent! But that estimate website is a good place to start to see where you will be on that range!
I think you might be thinking that it was 30% of your tuition was completely free if you fell under a certain income bracket as that’s what it was when I was claiming OSAP in my undergrad about 5 years ago. That money was purely grants, then on top of that I got loans as well which all together came out to be $8,000-12,000 a year

Do you mind me asking what your GPA/average was? I think they used your last 2 years/60credit hours for calculation purposes right?
Hey everyone, I received an email from UofT saying my physiology prerequisite does not meet the requirements, and that I could take another physiology course and finish it by June to have them continue looking at my application. I was just wondering how time intensive the AthabascaU physiology course is and if it is possible to finish in around 2 months? It's really pushing it so I want to know if its worth the time and money commitment. Also does anyone know how long it would take to have the release a final grade/transcript once the course is completed?

You can accept one offer and it won't cancel the other. It says that here: https://www.ouac.on.ca/faq/accept-considered-for-other-offers/
