Hey everyone!
I haven't seen a post for Fall 2021 yet so here it is!
My choices are:
1. UofT
2. McMaster
3. Nipissing SPP
I started my OUAC application in November and now trying to work on the supplemental packages. My CASPer Test is on January 12, 2021.
I need to take Anatomy and Physio course(s) however, I'm having a hard time figuring out what would satisfy the requirements from all three universities. My options so far are:
1. Take CBLG 101 in Winter and CBLG 111 in Spring at Ryerson. However final grade will be in June; hoping that's fine. This satisfies all 3 unis
2. Take SCS 2159 in Winter from UofT which is enough for UofT and McMaster but not for Nipissing. I have to take an Anatomy course just for Nip.
I have a Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education from back home, been working as an RECE in Toronto the last 8 years, have a Diploma in Nonprofit Management at Ryerson. My cGPA is 3.55 which I'm worried about. Lots of extra curricular activities from university and volunteering here in Toronto. I still have to compute the GPA for the last two years.
I requested WES to send my transcripts to Nip and McMaster and asked my old uni to send to UofT.
It's been an expensive application so far; really hoping I get in! Looking forward to chatting with you all and sharing our experiences.

As much as I would love to go to Queen’s I just can’t justify the extra $10K a year, especially with school likely being a hybrid of online and in-person. For me it’s just to much of a financial burden when I could stay local. Plus I couldn’t take my cats to Queen’s

That’s odd. I’m thinking that future offers are probably dependant on people rejecting current offers? But I could be wrong!

Hey, where did you get the Queen’s is 10k more? And classes are set to be in person.

Im waiting on both, but I think in a normal situation I would definitely choose queens for the same reasons as you but with so much uncertainty with covid I don't think it's worth it financially (McMaster is also closer for me). Kingston is also pretty isolated I can't image moving there in lockdown.

Hey,
thank you for your response! Don’t mean to be intrusive but I was wondering what your GPA , cgpa is as well so I can get a sense of the cut off ranges this year

Both my GPA and CGPA were 3.9/4.0 at the time of application. My conditions were that I complete the philosophy prerequisite with a final grade of B by August 15th (the only prerequisite I haven't completed). My GPA is kinda high so I don't think it's the norm/expectation. They also take into consideration your CASPer score so I've heard from previous years that some people with lower GPAs get accepted. Similarly, those with high GPAs sometimes get rejected!
Hi, does anyone mind providing a quick list of prereqs they fulfilled for Mac/Uoft? (Apart from A&P, psych, stats, economics?) How can we separately fulfill any of the humanities prereqs? Are there any available to enrol? Sorry I’m internationally educated so any guidance on this would be extremely helpful!

I plan on reapplying next year, but I also have the same question as you! Does anyone know of any job opportunities with the degrees we currently have?

I got accepted to a couple of accelerated programs so far but I did think about my plan B if I wasn't. My options were to either start the 4-year BScN program at Ryerson (I have a deferred acceptance from last year) or work as a dietary tech or food service supervisor in a long-term care facility/hospital for the year and then reapply next year. I'm graduating with my BASc in nutrition this Summer so I'd try to put it to use! I thought it would be good experience for my resume and would at least pay better than minimum wage.
