Hey everyone!
I haven't seen a post for Fall 2021 yet so here it is!
My choices are:
1. UofT
2. McMaster
3. Nipissing SPP
I started my OUAC application in November and now trying to work on the supplemental packages. My CASPer Test is on January 12, 2021.
I need to take Anatomy and Physio course(s) however, I'm having a hard time figuring out what would satisfy the requirements from all three universities. My options so far are:
1. Take CBLG 101 in Winter and CBLG 111 in Spring at Ryerson. However final grade will be in June; hoping that's fine. This satisfies all 3 unis
2. Take SCS 2159 in Winter from UofT which is enough for UofT and McMaster but not for Nipissing. I have to take an Anatomy course just for Nip.
I have a Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education from back home, been working as an RECE in Toronto the last 8 years, have a Diploma in Nonprofit Management at Ryerson. My cGPA is 3.55 which I'm worried about. Lots of extra curricular activities from university and volunteering here in Toronto. I still have to compute the GPA for the last two years.
I requested WES to send my transcripts to Nip and McMaster and asked my old uni to send to UofT.
It's been an expensive application so far; really hoping I get in! Looking forward to chatting with you all and sharing our experiences.

Which school are you declining for and any reason why if you don’t mind me asking?

Is there a reason Nipissing is your first choice? It’s hard to find information about the program as it’s quite niche so any perspective would be helpful!

Yes I noticed that Nipissing's Toronto-based program is extremely niched and there's little to no information about it anywhere. That's the reason I didn't apply to the program. Have they said anything about a virtual open house for applicants?

I haven’t heard anything back tbh. I know they place extremely well post graduation with 95% being hired on by UHN and 100% by sick kids. But other than that it’s radio silence.

The fact that the program is essentially a few classrooms in Toronto and nothing else really local was super shady to me. I think the entire program is actually based outside of the GTA up near the actual campus. But I do know that graduates place really well from the SPP program.
Edit: I also wanna make myself clear in that what I do know about the SPP program is from older YoutTube videos I lurked earlier in the year, so it may be dated information! I don't wanna worry anyone in case it's been updated.

I wouldn’t say shady, maybe more along the lines of like a secret society ?. The SPP second entry program is located entirely in Toronto. I heard they will be moving their offices and classrooms into the Michener Institute this year. The first time write NCLEX pass rate is 95% which is comparable to UofT which is about a 96% so almost negligible. I honestly don’t know how I’m going to decide. UofT brings a strong research focus, international recognition and massive faculty in comparison to SPP. Will that be of benefit to an extent that exceeds what SPP offers, likely not. It’s likely that most nurses in any schools program will use their faculty for a reference letter and not much more beyond that.
Im not sure if anyone can answer this but, I know these universities are taking your last 10 courses but if you took Summer courses what marks are they taking from the previous academic year? Are they counting backwards from second semester to first or just taking the highest marks from the full academic year?
Im trying to calculate my GPA but I'm confused because I have a mix of full and half credit courses in my 2019 year. Thanks!

Does anyone know if Humber is still giving out acceptances or are they done?
