Ontario Second Entry Nursing Fall 2020

Updated:   Published

Hey, I used to creep these forums for the past few years and they helped affirm my decision to apply to nursing school for Fall 2020. I didn't see one started for next year so I thought, why not start one?

I graduated a while back so I'm a bit older, but my top three choices are:

1. Queen's

2. McMaster

3. York

4. Humber-UNB

I did not get this email however I sent mine a couple days ago (maybe they have received it) what is your GPA?

I did get the email and have already sent in my final transcripts through OUAC. I think it may be an automatic thing

For Western my GPA is around 3.5 (82%).

I think you're right that it's probably just automatic.

My GPA is the same, crossing our fingers for us!!

2 questions.

1. Does Queen's let you know what position you are on the wait list? Can you e-mail them and ask?

2. What do you think the odds are that we will be starting in person classes in September. Do you think the Fall term will be online? Seems foolish to rent an apartment for September and then find out we aren't starting in person classes until January.

Hey! I totally get why you're hesitant to rent an apartment. I signed a lease last week, because I am truly optimistic we'll be able to start in the fall! I didn't want to leave it to last minute and have no place to live in the end ? I have also heard that they are most likely going to start programs in September that are upper years because it is less likely that they will go against rules of social isolation, and they are building school curriculum to be more at home, but still have in class lectures occasionally. I think nursing is one program that will most likely be allowed to start, because if anything medical professionals need to be trained ASAP for the future! I also have a family friend who is a public health official, and he has said that by August it is most likely schools will reopen, but if they don't it will be the start of October - the economy can't handle universities being closed for another semester.

Hi everyone,

I just received an offer from Trent through the myTrent portal! I will be declining this so a space will be open for someone ?

Hey! CONGRATS on the offer, can I ask what your GPA was?

Specializes in RN.

Hey! I believe my last 10 FCEs was around a 3.6-3.7 ? hope that helps!!

For people who got into Trent, is your offer letter on your portal yet? I can't find the actual offer letter despite getting admitted on the portal as well as getting an email of admission.

Hey, just wondering is there a facebook page for created 2020 incoming nursing students at York?

Not that I know of. I know there is one for the whole Nursing department for York University, its member more than 1000 members.

Hey guys, for those of you who have accepted UofT, I'm slightly confused as to where I pay my deposit?
