Hey, I used to creep these forums for the past few years and they helped affirm my decision to apply to nursing school for Fall 2020. I didn't see one started for next year so I thought, why not start one?
I graduated a while back so I'm a bit older, but my top three choices are:
1. Queen's
2. McMaster
3. York
4. Humber-UNB

Hey there! Yay, CONGRATS, mine just changed to conditional too! ?
I did my undergrad at Mac but I'll be accepting UofT this year. I knew a few nursing friends, talked to some Mac PAs, and my SO is in a PBL-heavy program. From what I heard about PBL, it's very dependent on the effort that you and your group mates put into each case and how different your learning style is. You'll get mixed reviews; some hate it, some think it's very useful. My SO makes fun of it sometimes but I think they like it and finds it very valuable.
You'll have a tutor with you during tutorials to steer you in the right direction and fill in any info that you're missing. It will take a while to get used to it and you'll worry if you're learning enough information (you will!). You and your group will be coming up with your own objectives for each tutorial/case. I'm not entirely sure how accelerated nursing PBL is different from PA/Med PBL, but the objective is not just on learning all the info you need (which is important), but focusing on acquiring/developing soft skills like self-directed learning, critical thinking, collaboration, etc--Mac's very fond of this. I used to study better individually but now love studying in groups.
Again, CONGRATS! I'm sure you'll find plenty of info on PBL online and from other students as well.

Hey! Thanks for getting back to me about problem-based learning, it really helped. And CONGRATS on your acceptance to McMaster and UofT nursing!!

Hey! I'm not sure if this is much help but I know some police departments can accept a request for a police record check online (I think thats what they told me when I went to get one last year)and most likely if your department doesn't they will now because of COVID because I know mine does!
As for CPR I'm not too sure I'm sorry!

Havent recieved anything myself, but I was told previously theyd start sending out offers after May 1st. Maybe we will hear from people later this week? Hopefully we both get in!
I've been creeping on this forum for a while just wanted to say hi! last year was my second year in uni and I applied to a bunch of accelerated programs but didn't get into any. Trent offered me an alternate offer and I took it and have gone there for the past year. I applied again for a transfer into the accelerated nursing and am waiting for a response. I just got my grades back today and I believe I have a 3.7. CONGRATS to everyone who's gotten accepted and I'm anxiously waiting to hear back soooon :)

Hey! They basically just offered me into their honors bachelors of science program, and they said to try applying again for nursing in a year. My grades were absolute *** my first two years so it totally made sense that they didn't accept me LOL so I just took the year to take easyish courses and get my grades up since I already completed all of the prerequisites at my last university and Trent accepted all of the credits I already had. I hope we get in! From what I've heard it's a lot easier as an internal applicant ?
