Ontario Second Entry Nursing Fall 2020

Updated:   Published

Hey, I used to creep these forums for the past few years and they helped affirm my decision to apply to nursing school for Fall 2020. I didn't see one started for next year so I thought, why not start one?

I graduated a while back so I'm a bit older, but my top three choices are:

1. Queen's

2. McMaster

3. York

4. Humber-UNB

Hey guys just got accepted to Mac's accelerated nursing program! Looks like they're still sending offers today! (cause I didn't receive one yesterday.

GPA in the last two years was about a 3.9/4.

Was yours conditional as well? So confused at what the conditions are!

Mine doesn't say anything about "conditional". It shows a green checkmark with a response date of June 1st and link to complete a residence app. I've already completed my BSc (I've been out of school for 1 year) if that helps.

Hey!! Thanks so much for this post. I’m going to be attending queens AST this fall, I was wondering if you prepared anything the Summer before?

Awesome! Excited to meet ya in the fall! No, I did absolutely nothing over the Summer and was completely OK. I don't think most people did any prep or review.

Hey all, yesterday I got accepted into McMaster's accelerated program!! I've been waitlisted to Queen's AST which was my first choice, and also got into York ?

I'm an external applicant and graduated in 2017, and have been working full-time since then.

My cGPA when I graduated was probably a 3.6/4.0, but I scored 90s in my pre-reqs which I took after I graduated (Anatomy, Psychology 1 and 2).

McMaster's deadline to accept their offer in June 1st, so if anyone declines, I'm sure more offers will come through afterwards, really encouraging patience during this process and doing other things to keep your mind off of the anxiety of it all.

Hope we're all keeping safe during this pandemic situation ❤️

Hey guys I’m pretty sure I’ve been accepted at Mac too!! I have the thing where it just says response due date and still the green circle so I guess that will update soon!

I’m so happy! CONGRATS everyone!

Hii I just got accepted into Mac. Currently I have a conditional offer, I was wondering if there are any internal applicants here that know where to accept the offer. The offer isn't on my ouac unless I'm not looking in the right place. CONGRATS to everyone else that got in ?

Hey! Mine is also conditional and I don’t know why either! I graduated last year and have completed all the prerequisites.

I was accepted to Mac yesterday and today the official letter was uploaded! My conditions were to submit final documents by August 1st, and complete all courses in progress with a final cumulative average of 70% and minimum final grade of C- in the required courses. ?

I know this has been asked before but I can't find the reponse, as an internal UofT applicant how do you accept the offer? I logged into Join and pressed I ACCEPT and it said it will take a week for it to update. Also, I currently have accepted another offer on OUAC do I need to cancel that one for UofT's to go through?

Hey there!

Under OUAC 105 - Responding to an Offer of Admission, there is a section that says "You must first cancel the previously accepted offer before you can accept another offer." So yes, I think you do need to cancel that offer before accepting UofT through OUAC.

As to how internal applicants are to accept through Join, I'm not sure as I'm an external applicant, although I don't recall accepting anything through that site. I just dowloaded the offer from there. I was able to log into and pay the deposit on Acorn. ?

Hey! I would cancel the OUAC one just in case, but not sure if you need to.

Otherwise, yeah you just click accept on Join and wait for it to update. For me I think it took 2 days before it changed the status on Join to show that I had accepted it. I double checked with Tammy that this is all we have to do and she confirmed ?

Congratulations to everyone who got an offer!

I was accepted into Nipissing's Scholar Practitioner Program today!
