Hey, I used to creep these forums for the past few years and they helped affirm my decision to apply to nursing school for Fall 2020. I didn't see one started for next year so I thought, why not start one?
I graduated a while back so I'm a bit older, but my top three choices are:
1. Queen's
2. McMaster
3. York
4. Humber-UNB

Thank you!! And it was 3.94 on a 4.0 GPA scale !

Hey! I received an email on the 13th (14th?) of March and was given until the 17th of April to accept, so I suppose they’ll reach out to more people around that time?
I’m still waiting to hear back from other schools so I haven’t made a decision yet.
This waiting period is making me a little anxious, but hopefully we’ll all get some good news soon! Best of luck to you! ?

Hi guys,
I’m still waiting to hear back on my first choice. However I have to accept or decline westerns offer by the 14th. If I accept Westerns I have to decline Queens. I’m not sure what I’m going to do as that would be my second choice. Does anyone have any info on the programs ?? Like class size, placements etc.
thank you xx

Hey!! First off, CONGRATS on your offers!! I’ve done a lot of research on the two programs. From what I have read, and from talking to people, queens is harder to get into because it only has 45 kids accepted to the program. I’ve read that the placements are much better at queens, because they have all rotations during clinical placements, which gives you exposure to a lot of different specialties. Overall, the top schools for accelerated nursing are McMaster, UofT, and queens. Western is of course an amazing program too, but from people I’ve spoken to, hospitals look at you on a higher level if you went to one of those three schools. Also, Kingston is beautiful - UofT is my top choice but if I don’t get in I’ll be going to queens!! I did a masters at western this past year and London isn’t the prettiest

Thanks for replying so quickly! I really think I’ll want to work in paediatrics and I wasn’t sure if I would get exposure to that during clinical. I’m from Nova Scotia so I don’t know much about places in Ontario especially with rent prices. ??.

Hey there! I was accepted into Western on March 13th. I believe that was when the first offers were sent out.
