Ontario Second Entry Nursing Fall 2020

Hey, I used to creep these forums for the past few years and they helped affirm my decision to apply to nursing school for Fall 2020. I didn't see one started for next year so I thought, why not start one?

I graduated a while back so I'm a bit older, but my top three choices are:

1. Queen's

2. McMaster

3. York

4. Humber-UNB

That makes sense. I emailed them for the police record request form and haven’ t received a reply yet. Won’t it take too long to obtain police record check if we wait until we are off the wait list?

I agree with you, it would take too long. Please let me know what they email you regarding the police record request.

Just FYI Toronto police processing time is less than 10 biz days. So no sweats!

I agree with you - the process is a bit confusing and the email was vague. The email technically refers to the link that states that everything is due Aug 1... which doesn't make sense if they told you that we are just "holding on to our documents" until we get the call... I just hope they give us more info regarding documents etc once they have their waitlist compiled after the due date, July 6?

According to their website, under the COVID-19 FAQ, it says that they *may* be adjusting the deadlines depending on if everyone can get the stuff done. However, I also believe that they expect things to be done immediately so should a position open up to someone on the waitlist, they are able to provide all the documents right away and complete their enrolment into the program. At least that's my understanding from my experience last year. I do think they may be a bit more lenient with everything going on though.

Hi everyone! Congratulations on the acceptances, I just got waitlisted by UofT on Friday as well, and I am curious about everyone's decision on where to go for nursing school. For those of you who also got acceptance from other schools, I assume most of you have started immunization form or police check. I wonder would you go to UofT if they decide to accept you maybe in the end of July? I am on the fence! If any of you could provide some suggestions that will be great!

@AmeliaWan I am undecided at this point. I am in the same situation as you. UofT can you take you off the waitlist up until the very last week before school starts it would have to be a quick turnover. And you would lose your deposit of 500$ most likely if you made the switch last minute - just something to keep in mind.

Online Medical Microbiology from UofT School of Continuing Studies is really good. Small assignments on a weekly basis + final project and exam. Prof is easy to communicate with and the online format gives you a lot of flexibility.

For everyone on the waitlist for UofT ... can you post here once you get your acceptance? I kind of want to know how many get off the waitlist and if there's a chance for those that don't get off the waitlist in August...

I agree with you so much! Right not I am very on the fence about the waitlist, and the instruction suggests us to do police check and immunization form ahead of time, but so far there is no form, so I am a little bit confused.
