I am currently a third year York University student hoping to apply for second entry nursing at York
only next year (yes I am going through the strike).
Since applications open in November, I thought it would be best to get this forum started. I am hoping to get more insight into the program and I hope current and past nursing students would share their views on the program and how job searching went. Also, what nursing specialties do most York nursing graduates enter as I am hoping to get into public health. Furthermore, share your insights on Humber, McMaster, U of T, Trent, Queens, Western, Ottawa and Nippissing. (I think that is all) and don't forget to include your acceptance GPAs.
just wondering if I can get some input from you guys. So I got accepted into Yorks Second entry program. I met all the conditions except for one. I was required to take a certain course and obtain a grade of B or higher. I took the course this summer, but I recieved a D. I've already picked all my courses, obtained my ID, and etc. Do u guys think York will take away my acceptance, due to the one mark I recieved. I'm so scared!
I agree with @nursinggal101. You should definitely call or email the York nursing admissions if you satisfied most but not all of your conditions. It would be better for you to speak to them and maybe they'll be able to waive that condition or offer you another alternative. Since it's microbiology and not a core course like physiology they may be more lenient. Wishing you the best!

Hi guys, I'm planning to apply for second entry nursing this fall and would just like some information on the CASPER. Is there any way I can practice somewhere?
I’m also applying to second entry nursing at York, uofT, McMaster, western and maybe UBC. My gpa isn’t the greatest I’m around a 3.4 with an 81 average in my last year. I do have a lot of involvement: 4 years hospital volunteer, president of my university’s branch of a conference on healthcare for 3 years, photography exec. for 2 campus clubs, book buddies tutoring program for the public library, Social science tutor for three years, volunteered in two labs with thesis researcher, Science mentor ship program, and teaching First Nations music program. I have really good references and uofT is my top choice but I’m worried they’re going to think my grades are *** because I got two grades in the 60s in the past year bc biochem courses are stupid.

Hi all, I am currently a fourth year student at UofT. Because of my difficulty transitioning from high school to university, my first three semesters' GPA is low and therefore my cGPA is on the lower end compared to some of you guys (~3.10/4.0 scale). My recent GPA is around ~3.5 and I'll do my best to try and bump it up more. However I am still hopeful. I have volunteered at the hospital for 3+ years, at the library for 3, and currently a research assistant with some lab assistant experience.
My first choice is UofT's program. I am nervous for applying but excited and I wish you guys all the best! How are you guys all doing?

Hey there, I am in fifth year of my undergrad in life science. I have question regarding a course I am retaking (PSL301) as part of the pre-reqs. I am just wondering if they will consider my retake course for the meeting the minimum requirement.
