Ontario Second Entry Nursing Fall 2019

World Canada CA Programs

Updated:   Published

Hello Everyone,

I am currently a third year York University student hoping to apply for second entry nursing at York

only next year (yes I am going through the strike).

Since applications open in November, I thought it would be best to get this forum started. I am hoping to get more insight into the program and I hope current and past nursing students would share their views on the program and how job searching went. Also, what nursing specialties do most York nursing graduates enter as I am hoping to get into public health. Furthermore, share your insights on Humber, McMaster, U of T, Trent, Queens, Western, Ottawa and Nippissing. (I think that is all) and don't forget to include your acceptance GPAs.

@Cancer89 what’s your name on Facebook? I’ll add you :) and what are the other two groups called?

When did you have to give a deposit to Humber/confirm you were going? On a waitlist still but the chances don't look great now.

@alexep10 I was on the waitlist as well and I got my offer on Thursday night (actually right after the Raptors won... all in all a good night lol). My deposit is due June 19th so I’ll pay it tomorrow. I accepted my offer yesterday. Fingers crossed for you! Have you received a call from Humber?

Hey. Don’t sweat it. I was on waitlist last year. I just had to wait it out. But I was told I was on top of the waitlist but no one decided to drop out of the program.

@Cancer89 @alexep10 I was also on the waitlist last year! They told me I was at the top as well and unfortunately nobody dropped out of the program. I was also on the waitlist this year and just received my offer of admission. I think they have gone to the waitlist now, so you might be getting an offer soon!

Still no news from western. I guess it’s time to give up. Super heart broken. ?

What is your GPA? I know some offers went out again and tomorrow is the deadline to accept. You could still get in after that!

Congratulations!! That's good to know that they are taking people from the waitlist now! Thanks. ?

I haven't gotten a call, but I'm living outside the country right now so I have my parent's number listed for them to contact if needed. Did they email you to notify you of you the opening as well? If you don't mind sharing, what was your GPA in the last 2 years?

@alexep10 thank you! ? they actually called me a few weeks ago to ask me if I was still interested in the program. When I told them that I was, they said they have moved to the waitlist and are just following up with people to see if they’re still interested.

My GPA in the last two years was 3.8. I was a bit surprised when I didn’t get an offer right away because my GPA was so high, but I guess my high school marks were what held me back (93% in bio, 88% in chem, 84% in math and 91% in English)

Ahh okay, that makes sense. I've sent a few emails recently about the waitlist so I'm not sure if they'd still call. Your GPA was so high not to get an offer right away! Thanks for all the info ?

I'm still waiting for a response ?

Anyone hear anything from UofT regarding waitlists/acceptances/rejections today?

@Kayla810 are you on the waitlist?

Hey everyone anyone here get accepted or waitlisted for Ryerson?

Currently on the waitlist for Ryerson mainsite and GBC collab. Started to lose hope, but still a little left haha! Got an acceptance for practical nursing at GBC, but i dont think i will take it since my average is already good enough to get into an RN program and i remember reading past threads on here that you need a high gpa to get into the bridging programs.
