Hello Everyone,
I am currently a third year York University student hoping to apply for second entry nursing at York
only next year (yes I am going through the strike).
Since applications open in November, I thought it would be best to get this forum started. I am hoping to get more insight into the program and I hope current and past nursing students would share their views on the program and how job searching went. Also, what nursing specialties do most York nursing graduates enter as I am hoping to get into public health. Furthermore, share your insights on Humber, McMaster, U of T, Trent, Queens, Western, Ottawa and Nippissing. (I think that is all) and don't forget to include your acceptance GPAs.

I commute! A lot of my pals are commuters as well. I think that's a sense of community in it self? hahaha

I was accepted on the 17th, I believe that's when the first round finished. I think how it works is for each round they put out as many offers as needed to fill each spot and then as people accept or decline the offer, more spaces open up (so for first round it would have been 80 offers sent out to the first choices and then second round whatever spaces were left were sent out and then for the next round following when the offers for the second round expires, whatever spaces are left will be offered).
If all the spaces were filled I believe the university would send out notices about whether you made it on the waitlist or were rejected so I would still have hope that you'll be accepted with the next round! I believe my offer expires 05/10/19 so that will probably when the next round of acceptances go out ? I hope this helps!

I would like to know if we are permitted to wear long-sleeved tops under our scrubs or a jacket over to cover the arms. I wasn't able to find an answer on their website.
Thank you!
Hey! You're allowed to wear long sleeves under the scrubs. The jackets over the scrubs depend on your own unit's culture where you get placed, but generally the answer is no because of the risk of bringing in infectious microbes... You can find details about this with your CIs later ? Also like... some units are really hot LOL. Hope this helps!

Thank you for taking the time to clarify this for me. The process is beginning to make sense to me now.
Hey everyone! I just got into u of t around 12 pm ish. It’s my first choice so I will be accepting the offer! To everyone who is still waiting, honest to god, I feel you. I was so anxious and even broke down a few times over the last 2 weeks. But please don’t lose faith and please remember that you worked hard to get to where you are , and your efforts will pay off. I am crossing my fingers for everyone who is still waiting. Last but not least, congratulations to everyone who have already received an offer! I can’t wait to meet those of you who are going to u of t! Feel free to message me!!!!
