I am currently a third year York University student hoping to apply for second entry nursing at York
only next year (yes I am going through the strike).
Since applications open in November, I thought it would be best to get this forum started. I am hoping to get more insight into the program and I hope current and past nursing students would share their views on the program and how job searching went. Also, what nursing specialties do most York nursing graduates enter as I am hoping to get into public health. Furthermore, share your insights on Humber, McMaster, U of T, Trent, Queens, Western, Ottawa and Nippissing. (I think that is all) and don't forget to include your acceptance GPAs.

I got waitlisted too!!!! Did you apply after the February deadline though? Because I did, and they did say spots will be given to those who applied before the deadline and then if theres anything available, it'll go to the people who applied later. So I guess that's why I'm on the waitlist because I definitely had more than the minimum requirements!
My high school transcript ended up coming in past the feb deadline so I guess that means my application was late. I wonder if there's a ranking system too, I called today and the admission lady wasn't in I also sent an email. Hoping the waitlist isn't huge!

I got waitlisted as well! Humber is my first choice because I didn't have the prereqs for other second entry programs. I applied before the deadline, but my GPA is only 3.3 (77.5%) from so I'm thinking my chances may not be very high.

Hey, my GPA for the last two years is an 84%! And it is ranked based on GPA before the deadline but everyone after the deadline is considered the same, theyve already chosen their acceptances at this point so it just depends on now if there is space, then the remaining applicants will get in (from the waitlist)
Hey guys. I called the U of T nursing registrar today. They told me that the first batch of acceptances have been decided and should be going out this week. I had this conversation with them this morning, so I am guessing the earliest anyone will hear back is tomorrow? If not, definitely next week (Monday, probably).
AAAHHH!!!! Can they just end our misery already and let us know!!! The wait is killing me. Imagine waiting till the end of June to hear from them....I would die ?
I called the registrar instead of calling the admission officer. I straight up asked them if they are sending out the first batch of acceptances this week haha. The person who answered the phone was really nice but he couldn't tell me for sure if the first batch of acceptances are being sent out tomorrow. Hope that helps.

Yeah I am literally quoting him haha. He said "I think they should be out this week". When I asked him to specify (because it's already Thursday by this point), he said either later today, or tomorrow, or next week. But decisions have been made already.

No idea, I just know it's on a rolling basis until June! I believe once you receive an acceptance email, you have two weeks to accept. So spots should be opening up quite frequently anyways.

I can't speak for this year, but I know last year (and from what I've heard for years prior) it's very much on a rolling basis rather than batches like most schools do. For example, last year (from what I know) acceptances were sent out each weekday for the first week, April 9-16 (I was accepted on the 16th ? ). The acceptances would even vary in time each day with some getting emails in the morning, some in the afternoon, etc - they were very much on a rolling, continuous basis . After that second Monday there seemed to be a bit of a lull and the acceptances rolled out on a less consistent basis (maybe every 1-3 weeks or so? - I'm not entirely sure).
It's definitely anxiety-inducing but try not to worry and hopefully everything will work out! I know of people who were waitlisted and got accepted at the very end of August so there's always hope even if you don't hear back right away ?
