Hello Everyone,
I am currently a third year York University student hoping to apply for second entry nursing at York
only next year (yes I am going through the strike).
Since applications open in November, I thought it would be best to get this forum started. I am hoping to get more insight into the program and I hope current and past nursing students would share their views on the program and how job searching went. Also, what nursing specialties do most York nursing graduates enter as I am hoping to get into public health. Furthermore, share your insights on Humber, McMaster, U of T, Trent, Queens, Western, Ottawa and Nippissing. (I think that is all) and don't forget to include your acceptance GPAs.

Rolling Basis starting 1st or 2nd week of april for mcmaster usually

I only applied to UofT and I'm so anxious to hear back because their acceptance rate is fairly low! If I don't get in it means having to wait another year before applying to programs again.
I only applied to mcmaster accelerated, but I also applied to regular 4 year programs

I was going to solely apply to Humber because I didn't want to pay $2000+ to take 2 humanities credits for UofT. But, the program being only 20 months was very appealing so I decided to do 2 humanities courses. I also applied to McMaster but I wasn't too thrilled about having to move to Hamilton if I got in - wish I would have saved my money and not applied.
While I am nervous, based on anyone I have talked to - I feel like if you had good references, have some sort of volunteer and research experience and have over 80% in your last 10 credits or 2 years (whatever UofT looks at) you're good to go ?
Just curious - was there a reason you didn't apply to any other Toronto schools? (York, Humber?)

I'm trying to see approximately where on the list I might be/ if there's still a chance. I've received offers to a few 4-year programs, but an accelerated one would be ideal.
My GPA isn't that great, my last two years would be equivalent to a 3.5. However, I am in the final year of my degree and am on my way to finish with a 3.9 hopefully!

I decided to apply into nursing late last spring, and York required a Philosophy credit which I didn't have, and would not have been able to complete in time.
I was only looking at 2-year programs because I can't really afford 4 years of school, and I had never actually heard of Humber college before, it didn't come up when I was searching for second entry programs.
Hey guys! I'm not too familiar with the Humber program, but I recently applied just to be safe. I also applied to York, Uoft, Mcmaster, Trent, and Queens. Does anyone know how competitive the Humber program is? I only recently applied and still have to wait for my WES and ICAS assessments which should take a week, I'm not sure how many spots they have left but I was just wondering if anyone knew how tough it is to get into their program. Thanks ?

Did anyone else just get an offer from York?
