Hello Everyone,
I am currently a third year York University student hoping to apply for second entry nursing at York
only next year (yes I am going through the strike).
Since applications open in November, I thought it would be best to get this forum started. I am hoping to get more insight into the program and I hope current and past nursing students would share their views on the program and how job searching went. Also, what nursing specialties do most York nursing graduates enter as I am hoping to get into public health. Furthermore, share your insights on Humber, McMaster, U of T, Trent, Queens, Western, Ottawa and Nippissing. (I think that is all) and don't forget to include your acceptance GPAs.

YEAH! I don’t mean to worry anyone by any means! But it did happen once that a mark I entered in the pre-req section did NOT save. If I didn’t go back in the application I would have never caught it and fixed it.
But just like you, right before I submitted, I double checked to make sure everything was there and it looked fine.
(I think all the anxiety is getting to me though ?)

Ahh! Congratulations! If you don't mind sharing, what was your GPA for the last two years? I'm trying to see approximately where on the list I might be/ if there's still a chance. I've received offers to a few 4-year programs, but an accelerated one would be ideal.

I applied to Nipissing and UofT - anyone hear from UofT yet? And does anyone know if they give out conditional offers? I'm finishing up my last pre-req next week!
I think they start second week of April then send them out on a rolling basis until end of June!
Hey everyone! I need some advice. I recently got conditional acceptance from Lakehead which I am stoked about. They need an answer by May 1st. But going through old threads I see that other places like Western and Trent continue to send out offers late into June. Should I hold out or accept Lakehead's offer; can I later deny the offer if say I get acceptance into Trent (which is my preference) after May 1?

Yup you can totally do that! You can accept Lakehead and then cancel the acceptance on OUAC and accept Trents offer. But once you drop Lakeheads offer after accepting it, you can no longer go back to Lakehead.
Hey, I had a quick question. If I were to get a conditional response from york, I'm scared that I might not get a 3.0 in one of my pre-reqs I'm finishing up this semester. Do you think it'd be possible to finish this pre req at york over the summer, does anyone know if they allow that?

Hmm, most schools have a strict requirement where all mandatory courses must be completed by May 1st. I'm not sure about York specifically so you could ask them! But I know most programs wouldn't allow for that because they would be securing your spot until you finish the course in the summer (IF you do) when they could just offer the opportunity to someone else who has them done. I would email admissions to be sure!

Just try your absolute hardest to get that 3.0 your pre-req! That's your safest bet!
