Hello Everyone,
I am currently a third year York University student hoping to apply for second entry nursing at York
only next year (yes I am going through the strike).
Since applications open in November, I thought it would be best to get this forum started. I am hoping to get more insight into the program and I hope current and past nursing students would share their views on the program and how job searching went. Also, what nursing specialties do most York nursing graduates enter as I am hoping to get into public health. Furthermore, share your insights on Humber, McMaster, U of T, Trent, Queens, Western, Ottawa and Nippissing. (I think that is all) and don't forget to include your acceptance GPAs.

Yeah I wish they would give a better answer than something vague like that, really sucks that they don't care lol. Thank you anyways!!!?
I'm glad I helped alleviate even the slightest bit of worry. It's hard when you already completed the whole application to be anxious about a slight error you didn't do on purpose. Btw, I was wondering, is the form like super comprehensive? (just out of curiosity hehe)
@aspiringnurse15 I came across this one: https://bloomberg.nursing.utoronto.ca/future-students/how-to-apply/master-programs/attachment/example_mn_reference_20199 for the Bloomberg's Masters of Nursing program and thought it was perhaps the same form?

It's the exact same! Except the part where they have to talk about your strengths and weaknesses (e.g. the empty box section) is very short, its only like one paragraph. But other than that, same format!

I know! It's super stressful! I hate the anxiety around it. BEST OF LUCK EVERYONE!!!

Yeah I have a feeling the early/first admissions will be for the top candidates..e.g. those with 4.0/3.9+ GPAs ?

don't be discouraged! If you look at the previous forum for 2018, some of the applicants with early acceptance had a B+/A- cGPA and/or final year and strong extracurriculars.
I think Bloomberg's program is definitely fair because it looks at all parts of the applicant and not just grades. Only time can tell now!

Sorry, I just double checked and it was April 9th to be exact. Every day makes a difference haha. I'm very nervous because although I have lots of extracurricular experience, I feel like I did not describe it in detail for the supplemental because I was unaware of how they wanted it (no word limit, I thought they wanted a list or something). I merely just listed everything and gave a short description of what it entailed. UGH.

It would've been better if they had the same option as the record for school where you can input into a chart the start/end date, the position name, the institution, and a brief description so we could clearly give everything. I agree, the no word limit was vague, do u want me to word it briefly describe it or expand on it (???!!!!!). But I appreciate the choice to write freely. Did you provide specific dates or just the time frame? (e.g. 2 years instead of from March 2015-March 2017)

I did both.
I just hope everything saved properly once we submitted (or maybe I’m just paranoid at this point lol). I remember I would double check every time I made an edit to the supplemental application because certain things wouldn’t save sometimes.
I wish UofT gave us a copy of what we submitted exactly.
