Hello Everyone,
I am currently a third year York University student hoping to apply for second entry nursing at York
only next year (yes I am going through the strike).
Since applications open in November, I thought it would be best to get this forum started. I am hoping to get more insight into the program and I hope current and past nursing students would share their views on the program and how job searching went. Also, what nursing specialties do most York nursing graduates enter as I am hoping to get into public health. Furthermore, share your insights on Humber, McMaster, U of T, Trent, Queens, Western, Ottawa and Nippissing. (I think that is all) and don't forget to include your acceptance GPAs.
FOr anyone who’s applied to western - what’s your application status? it says that my transcript is still required but i sent that through OUAC.. has anyone else sent through ouac and is experiencing the same issue? It says that the transcripts needed to be sent directly from the university so i'm sort of worried
For anyone who’s applied to mcmaster - i sent in my supplementary form way before the due date and they even replied with a confirmation but my application still says that they’re waiting for the supplementary part.. anyone else experiencing this issue?
i just want them to look at my application asap .. this waiting game is making me nervous!

For McMaster, the supplementary part is CASPER ? Casper takes 3-4 weeks to be sent to the university.
For me, my transcript says received on the western portal as well as on OUAC. I think you should phone western + OUAC and re-send the transcript through OUAC if needed. Usually it should say 'received' on the OUAC website too, if it does then call Western.. maybe they didn't update your account yet?

Hi JayKayAay,
If you completed your degree in Ontario then OUAC will complete the process of requesting and sending your transcript to Western. If your degree was completed outside of Ontario then you need to request a copy of the transcript yourself and have it sent directly to Western (same with your high school transcript).
Does your "To Do List" in Student Center list missing transcripts? If so, I would contact Western and ask if there's anything you should do to rectify the situation. Maybe something was lost in transit during the postal strike? Or maybe the documents were sent to the wrong office on campus?
I hope that helps!

Ah great, I just did my CASPer test so that’s a load off my shoulders.
It does say received on OUAC and all the other universities I’ve applied to in Ontario have received my transcript via OUAC. I’ll check in with Western, thank you!

I completed my degree at Waterloo and McMaster has received my transcript via OUAC so i don’t think it’s a postal issue! The item status for my transcript is ‘required’ while the other forms required say ‘received’ so I don’t think they’ve gotten/processed my transcript yet. I’m going to contact Western to see if they can figure out what’s going on, thank you for your advice!

Yeah, I would definitely contact the university and ask why you got a rejection. If you had all the requirements they would've likely waitlisted you instead of sending a flat out rejection since it's so early, especially if you have all those EQ's and that amazing GPA.
