I'm applying to the second entry nursing program in February 2018 for Fall 2018 admission. I'm applying to York, Humber, Trent, Nipissing and potentially Western. I'll be applying with a BA in psych. This is probably super premature, but I wanted some reassurance from fellow applicants. I also wanted to know if anyone, past or previous applicants, know the weighting of Additional Information forms and how they're considered during the application process? I was diagnosed with ADHD during my second year of university, after being misdiagnosed two previous times, and it's certainly had an impact on my grades. My GPA is going to be something like 6.7 on a 9.0 scale. And this really has me worried. Has anyone else had any experiences with Add. Forms?
Good luck to all!
Hi, what were your grades if I may ask!
Hi, it was around 3.8
Congrats on your queen's admission. When did you submit your application?
Thank you! I submitted my ouac application in October and my Queen's PSE in December
Hi everyone!I was looking more closely at Queen's accelerated program...do you need to have taken an English course in University? And would you know if it would be acceptable to take it in the summer at my current university?
You don't need to take an English course in university as long as your high school 4U English mark is over 75. You would have to arrange for your high school transcript to be mailed to Queen's.
Hi everyone, one of the schools I am applying to is Nipissing's Scholar Practitioner Program and I haven't been able to find much info on how the program is. Has anyone here heard about the quality of this program, how the course and clinical work are dispersed etc. Thanks in advance and good luck to everyone applying! I'm a graduate student at U of T applying for U of T, Queen's, Nipissing, Trent, Western, Humber, Lakehead and Ryerson. :)
I've spoken to a few current/past students about the Nipissing program. I've heard good things about it but its definitely a different style program. Apparently its like 3 weeks of class, 3-4 weeks of clinical and 1 week of class before the holiday break for the first semester. Its also very self directed (no direction for what to study - kind of scares me lol). I know people who work at Sickkids who were in the program and they are strong nurses, so its a good program just a bit different and newer!

That sounds interesting. I heard about the self-directed nature of the program...let's see if I get an interview. Thanks so much for your response!!
Hey guys!
I requested that my transcript be sent to all the schools I've applied to after the fall term which just passed.
The final mark for the fall term were finalized at my school Jan 18th but I keep checking and none of the schools have received my transcript yet.
Is anyone having the same issue? How long does it take for it to be sent?
Any insight would be greatly appreciated!
Thank you

Same here, maybe they're trying to milk money out of us, and hope that we create another request to send immediately.

I hope not! I would call your school and ask if those would have been processed yet. Or call the schools you applied to because they might only update that after a certain date etc.

OUAC sends a request to your school and if there are any problems OUAC will send you an email saying that the transcript couldn't be released (I had a small amount of money owing on my account so my school wouldn't issue the transcript, I settled this up and then they sent the transcripts immediately). None of the schools I applied to had updated my status saying they received it, so I sent an email to OUAC asking if they had gotten the transcript and they said they had and then my statuses started to change. So maybe the schools just haven't updated that they have received it yet!

Hey, I submitted all of my transcript requests via ouac for all the schools I'm applying to on Jan 8th. Some schools still haven't updated their portals like Queen's. Maybe it's just taking time to process and update everything...hopefully. Fingers crossed, good luck!
